So all these drivers that complained about Outlaws limiting how many times they could race go off to High Limit but don't show up for the races yesterday or today?

Boy I'm confused. I thought racers wanna race!

It's not always feasible to to race every race because of distance needed to travel. Volusia is a pretty good hike for most all of the teams.

Just heard they are throwing in  Fat Ladies Ankle Grab following dash draw - that makes your $40 look like a bargain now.

If I understand the situation right, the WoO should have cars coming out their ears for this weekend's races-right? Take the WoO drivers and add in all the High Limit drivers that are free to race any here they darned well please-right?

So far, H-L lists 58 drivers with points. If all 58 act on their god-given right to race wherever they please, you'd think that would be an extra 58 cars for the WoO this weekend. Smile Right?

19 Cars !!!   Not much of a show

What do you think a promoter or track owner prefers 7 more cars or a hundred or more fans?

I think everybody is forgetting the other point, and that is if they want to have time off and not race they can do so as well. They don't have to be committed to the outlwas. 3 HL drivers are at the races tonight. How many outlaws were at the HL Golden Isle races? Volusia is not a good sell and should not be used as barometer for drawing cars. Only 25 were there last year for this event, which included a make up feature. There were cars that were locked in to that race that did not come back. Plus the weather was iffy this year. Long way to go for 1 race. The winternationals races were a better indicator. The outlaws had some of their highest car counts in recent memory for that event. A dozen HL were there.

Neither WoO or HL is going to have great car counts in Texas either.   It'll be better than Florida, but not by much.

No.    HL guys get freedom 306 nights this year.   Those 2 nights aren't included.

By that way of reasoning if they sold their racing teams they'd have 365 days of freedom from having to race.  The logic of dropping off a 90+ race series for a 60 race series so they can race more makes no sense.  Those extra races that HL drivers are free to race are pretty much all the big World of Outlaws races that HL didn't schedule against.

HL doesn't come within 350 miles and is a non-factor for large portions of the country.  I am more focused on weekly tracks and the IRA this year.  I'll watch the HL races but no way I'm going that far to see them when WoO is within an hour several times each season if in the mood for a high $$$ night.

To the contrary there Isn't going on this time of year up north.  There will likely be a few making the trip down to shake the rust off.   Once Knoxville, Husets, NOSA and IRA start their seasons it will be more difficult to draw 410's in that area.

Stan & jason88cubs,

There are 17 drivers that signed up for High Limit.   I’m not sure which of those drivers have said they want to “race more”.    We do know that HL guys get to make a lot of choices that Platinum WoO guys can’t.

Brent Marks is a good example.   In 2022 he took some weekends off and didn’t race.     When he won all that money at Eldora he actually skipped the afternoon WoO makeup race.   Later that night he and his car were fresh and he won the 39th Kings Royal beating all of the Platinum guys who were racing their second race of the day.

Jacob Allen is another example.   He loves racing but he hated the WoO schedule because he was almost never home.   Well……. he solved that problem.

Maybe the motivating factor isn’t to “race more than the Outlaws”.   Perhaps what appeals to those 17 drivers is the ability to be more strategic with their race and life schedules.

hey Stan I was wonder if there was a good explaination of why the IRA drivers did not show up at WOO races when they were in Wisconsin last year. Years before they would have lots of cars there.  And it wasn't just a couple of them seems like a lot of them boycotted the WOO races.  Just thought you might know something since you follow them a little closer than I do.  I'm pretty sure they were not racing against each other either.

My God in Heaven! This season could have some of the very greatest racing of all time whether it's the HL or the WoO and keyboard warriors are gonna make it the most long, drawn out, forgettable season of all time bickering and bantering and bashing whichever series they personally like best for whichever of a plethora of reasons. Can't we just enjoy the damn races without this shit? Both series have their pluses and minuses and in the end, when the dust settles, I'd bet ya a Benjamin both are just fine and I hope they are because we all win with more races by the best sprint car drivers around bar none. Y'all stirring up bullshit all over wishing for the demise of ether series are nothing more than toaster leavins (ya know, the crumbs left at the bottom of the toaster). Sorry. Rant over. Gonna be a long season it appears and my wish is the racing is so damn good it drowns out the aforementioned naysayers.

Post of the year to date. Couldn't have said it better. The problem is the keyboard warriors love to argue and stir up controversy so they'll never stop. Its a shame, because as you said, this season could be some of the best racing we have ever seen.

High Limit has no rule about how many times you can race outside of High Limit and it was created for drivers to have freedom and race where they wanted because "Racer wanna race"

so why isn't Sweet running with WOO for this 2 day show?

Too far from home for 2 races?

Within hearing distance of Tri City Speedway

I don't know anything about Kennedale other than to say that comment sounded like a line from a Steeley Dan song... and I'm never never goin' back, to my old school... wink

I'm curious why you're think 40 cars, when gloom & doom seems to be the order of the day?

The event may not even happen because as we all know the WoO are dying and may not last the month. But according to some drivers they want to give the old dog one last hurrah so several are planning to go to Kennedale this weekend to make sure they go out in style. 40 plus is the expectation, but again how could they survive Volusia and a race with only 19 cars?  I mean that has never happened in series history and the series is likely dead, so the rumors of a good car count this weekend is probably just internet speculation.
