what a bunch of f-ing whiners. If you want to blame somebody blame the clowns at spencer fair board, if they would have made an effort to prep a track this would not of happened. NSL had there cars in the area and why not add another race. Looks like a good buisness decision to me. ASCS should be just fine without a couple big names, and gives a lessor known driver a chance at a big win.

It's pretty evident that those now making the decisions on the Clay County fairboard have their heads up their asses! That track could have easily been readied for the scheduled Saturday night NSL race. The pit area was bone dry, so no time would have been spent on that. from what I  could see driving by each day, the track looked very manageable and the infeild didn't appear t be holding any water. I think the fairboard has become gun shy because the IMCA Friday night venture has been a bust. Looks like 200-300 in the stands max! They are too stupid to realize.....THIS IS SPRINT CAR COUNTRY! The fairboard is a bunch of jerks! Period!

Blazer,  those were m thoughts right away. A part time race track that did not want to do the necessary work needed to prep the track, and make the grounds available to race.  Maybe they should have took the short drive to Fairmont on Friday night and see what they missed out on.  7100 paid through the gate is what I heard.

If it was the best date available, why wasn't it selected weeks in advance? This decision has put some drivers in impossible decisions. Brian Brown had some tweets up about it earlier that he has since deleted and had one point replied to someone stating he was still running Sedalia.

It's very possible that they never considered the Sedalia race, but that's no excuse for what's happened. Rescheduling on 72 hours notice is a bad move to begin with, and doing so when half of the top six in your series' current point standings has already committed and been advertised to race elsewhere is inexplicable. Thumbs down to this move.

When Spencer cancelled on Thursday they needed a 2nd show up here for the weekend

Not many cars at Huset's around 18 as of now I am sure a few locals will get there later, this race has bust written all over it. T- Mac & Dude ARE there, as stated earlier Brown isn't.

This is my opinion.  No facts.

I would guess the NSL drivers were asked if due to the rainout/swaplike conditions at Spencer resulting in them losing another race if they were open to the NSL trying to get another date in the same area for the weekend.  My guess is all drivers said "YES"

As far as promoting the ASCS National Race at Sedalia, it seems silly to use ANY drivers that are not Full-Time ASCS points chasers in your advertising.  (but that's just me).  Shouldn't they be advertising using Wayne Johnson, Herrerra, Jeff Swindell and Aaron Ruetzel????  Those are the top guys in the series aren't they??

Unless a driver/team is committed to the series, there is ZERO guarantee of a driver/team being in attendance until they drive through the pitgate IMO.  Even then, there is still a chance they won't be in attendance (a wreck the night before, the driver being fired from a ride and not having one, the team folding mid-season (it's happened before) are all potential things that could happen.

Seems like people think that a 410 Series should worry about what a 360 Series is doing and vice versa, if that were the case then The WoO and ASCS would both have about 10 race dates (midweek shows only) as they both are heavy on the Friday/Saturday dates during the summer.  These are businesses last i checked.

If I lived in MO, I'd support the ASCS race this week and the NSL race next.  If I lived in SD, I'd support the NSL race and support the ASCS the next time they were in my area.

In the grand scheme of things, only 2 or 3 cars would have attended both and there is a chance that 1 or both races could still be rained out.  Neither race is really losing on car count and only those that think Brown, McCarl and Lasoski should be racing at Sedalia will be mad (but Danny drives where his car owner tells him to drive and Brian goes where his sponsors want him (my guess is Huset's).  McCarl is chasing points with NSL so I'd guess the point fund $$ will sway him (although I seem to recall none of the above drivers ever being too keen on the ASCS format of passing points, they would rather time trial).

We have a winner

Sometimes I hate to chime in here, but what the hell.  I am going to use my MSPN appointed voice of reason.  (For what that is worth.)

In business, life, racing, marriage, friendship etc. you are not going to please everyone all the time.  Period.

Perspective is an interesting thing.  Some see the glass half full.  Some see the glass half empty.  The choice is yours.

Am I disappointed that I don't get to race with one of the best drivers in the country at a half mile fairgrounds track (my favorites like the old Spencer, Sioux Empire, Jackson, Des Moines, Fairmont, Knoxville, Belleville, Huron, Rapid City - and on and on? Of course!

Am I happy that I don't have to make a five our drive to and from by myself (by choice) and be home in time to get my son Parker to shcool by 7 am Monday morning? Of course!

Are there things in life like schedules, and law changes and construction and DOT inspections and family and work that don't always go as planned that cause us to have to change our schedules?  Of course!

As racers and fans we should be supportive of the sport!  We are lucky there are two high quality races at two different venues in the Midwest this coming Sunday night.  There is plenty of talent that will be at both races regardless as to which one you choose to go to.

And my advice is to NOT miss the show at Moberly.  That place was BAD ASS FAST last year when we were there for the 360 show.  I would LOVE to see the 410's there.  They have done a great job with the track prep there and it should be a fascinating show!

Every racer out there is putting a ton of blood, sweat, tears and money into doing the best they can.  For someone to discount their efforts and the sport as a whole as a result of a scheduling change or the actions of a few people is ridiculous.  Get over it!

Go to the races, show your support and have a good time.

-or-

Don’t go to the races, stay home and check the internet every millisecond for results and then get on Hoseheads and bitch about how bad the races were that you didn't attend, spend any money, bleed, sweat or cry over!

The choice is yours.

Thank you +1

Maybe the NSL decision has less to do with Sedalia and more to do with Huset's trying to keep their car count up with the Oultaws running the same night at NODAK.

25 Cars at Huset.  You should have taken that bet so you could lose your ass like the promoter for Ref's track in Sedalia. Smile

I agree Joe, good to see the large crowd.  Any Ref sightings?  Some people really miss him. Smile

Chuck Brennan added 5000 to the winner's pay tonight at Huset's so Dusty Zomer got an 8000 payoff for winning.

Which is still $5,000 less than Sedalia. Good to see the big crowd at State Fair.  Hopefully more of those to come!
