I seriously doubt, based upon his bail amount, that he will do "hard" time. He will probably get, if any, jail time of six to nine months. Such low bail is (normally) not indicative of prison time. Should Nevada decide to prosecute (and not Utah) it is quite possible he could end up in northern Nevada where the infamous O.J. is presently housed. He would never see him but that could be another "claim to fame:" for him.

It's sad. It affects his whole family. I speak from experience as my son did some really stupid stuff. No matter what his family needs to support him, help him help himself. With the right counseler and support from family he can become whole again and start to have some self respect. This is very hard on everyone involved. His parents are not getting alot of sleep nowdays. The charges are probably going to be amended to felonies. Transporting a controlled substance across state lines is serious. I really don't think he's going to walk on this. He may do some time. If he does he could come out worse than he went in. Jail is school for criminals. They will teach alot of new tricks. I hope his parents go to counseling to take some of the pressure off themselves. Don't know them and never met them but i will bet they are good people that just happen to have a son who has gotton lost. God bless.

Making Headlines across the nation it seems

This punk has had more than his fair chances of getting his act together. Obviously, he doesn't want to. Be a decent human being first and a great race car driver second. I'm tired of hearing that excuse of his addiction. He can get clean like thousands of others but he has to decide to do it first. After his episode at the Grove last year, and now this, I hope he will never be able to get a ride in a Big Wheel race.

Got to interview Tyler 3 or 4 years ago at Nationals when he was driving the #27 car out of PA. Talked very candidly about his problems and how he's overcome them and learned from them. I was one of those that also was defending him. All he had in front of him and all that he's thrown away. I hope and pray that he finally gets the help he needs.

Probably the most unintelligent post in the entire thread.

After he gets clean, he needs to get rid of the people in his life that don't make him stay clean. I don't care if he never races sprint cars again, or goes on to be a champion, he needs to figure out how to get clean, and how to surround himself with the right people and stay clean. He's a really good dude until this stupid crap gets in the way. I hope he takes ownership of his life and who he surrounds himself with. He needs to stop messin up.

According to the news article Tyler partied and drove until the wheels literally fell off . LMAO.
We need more sprint car racing at our home track.

yes it is a sad deal the only upside is no innocent people got hurt

I have always been about second chances and in some cases third heck I have been given the same, my problem is how many times do you defend someone for the same actions and destructive behavior he is not a 5 year old who doesn't know right from wrong he is an adult and should be treated as such. I unfortunatly don't beleive this is the last tyler well screw up some people just don't learn and as long as people keep bailing him out he won't hit that point he hurts himself or somebody else tragicly. guys like this have squandered so many rides that alot of very talented and deserving guys should have gotten but did not have the party boy persona

First off I personally don't know Tyler from Adam, but I do know he can drive a sprint car! And who hasn't drove a 100 plus MPH out in the middle of no where? Lord know's I have! Now having said that, I'm very disappointed in him! Anyone that's being chased though three states, and isn't smart enough to throw the pot, booze, and speeder's out the window is just plain Dumb!

Having been around (as in at the first race) when Bob Walker started racing sprint cars then of course Tyler I know what the beginning was like. I know these guys and not everyone got along with Bob but I did. Tyler was quiet at first but I saw him grow both on and off the race track and it was cool to see. I remember a race some time in the mid '90s at Calistoga that Kenny Schraeder was there and he said that he saw a tremendous amount of potential in Tyler. We have all had our battles with demons in life and none of us is perfect. Most of the people I know that I have known over the years, myself included, have matured and changed the way we do the things we do to become more responsible. It saddens me to see this happen with Tyler. All the rumors and opinions and shit that people want to say - well - you can't deny this. If his hope was to continue to have people have his back this pretty well ends that hope except for the losers that he does not need in his life because of their involvement in the shit he can't stay away from. Even the most loyal friends, myself included, have to change their stance. And it's hard. But it has to be done. I know Tyler probably doesn't frequent this board and especially now obviously but if someone who loves him does and can get a message to him please do: Let this be the last time Tyler. Let this be your rock bottom. I don't care if you never drive a race car again but if you do nothing else with your life let this be whatever it takes to get your shit together. If you can't - if you can't find the strength to do it - let me never see you again. I'd prefer my memories of you in that case be of the beginning. You know, before it all went wrong. Do it for yourself. Forget what everyone else thinks because if you can't do it for yourself it just ain't gonna happen. I'm not saying you can or that you can't. That part is up to you. All I ask is that you stay away if you can't do this for yourself. There are happier times that I and probably others would like to hold on to.

Thanks,

Chris Lovett

I remember the night Tyler broke three track records that still stand today at Port Royal. I think it was a Gumout race about 2001. His fastest lap was 15.65 or something like that, won the dash, the heat, had to go to the rear of the field early in the feature. Came back to finish 2nd to Lance Dewease and if Walker has no problems, Lance would have been a distant 2nd. Super talent, love watching him race because he's not scared, but he's throwing it all away.

Hope he gets things straightened out now because this is probably even lower than he's been before.

I can just hear the track announcer now "Starting on the outside of row 12, out of Encino California, if his sprintcar isn't burning meth he is, he is T-Dub Tyler Walker.

Lance Armstrong achieved some pretty impressive goals thoughout his career, turns out he was a user?, a user!, could he be his best without the use of substances? Tyler drives with no fear, nothing to loose, first off, thats something you need to be a great driver, But, if he was clean would he? could he? be the driver he is on something? you proubly witnessed a driver on full tilt with no recognition of failure, Agreed kinda entertaining, but, as a childs hero or influence ,not something you aim your children too, he proubly one you would choose to steer your child clear of. As A child I attened a few horse sales, my fater quickly drew to the suspect on some horses, he always watched their actions in the sales ring,. why? their drugged! a potential buyer is purchasing something running on a short fuse, is this OK? would you purchase a sheep in wolves cloathing? its too bad for Tyler , but his talent was only two drags away .. shame on those willing to neglectfully agree he has a sick condition.that needs foremost attention prior to being a great driver hes in trouble, much larger trouble than pissing away a career in open wheel cars/nascar, he needs serious help, hopefully he can turn his shit around , his racing career is hopefully over, Id rather see him speak to a gymnasium full of potentially talented kids of what roads " NOT" to take when the world gives you everything .. then and only then.. I will raise my hand to Mr Walker.. Oe, How I wish this thought would become reality... its the only hope Tyler has to hold a ounce of weight in the racing community ..

Never met T Dub saw him at his Cali peak he was a gasser. I come from the world of drag boats we have seen two of our greatest Top Fuel Hydro Drivers go down the meth pipe path Like T Dub they thrilled us. The answer is worth more than the lottery. Bash meth not the kid, I don't think many can walk away from it.
