Good Morning!

I am still in Seattle. Travis walked down to the cafeteria last night and we sat as a family to eat. He is up and walking the halls and goes to therapy then wound care. They keep him busy. He works real hard to get mobility and movement. He still has a long way with rehab, but he is pushing forward.

He walked outside yesterday. It was the first time he had been outside in 8 weeks! He got some fresh air and enjoyed the sunshine for a few minutes.

Travis sees the Drs. Wednesday----new evaluations will be made and we will have a better idea of when he will be coming back to Texas. This guy does therapy all day--he is constantly working on his hands and trying to get the elbows moving again. I am even more amazed after visiting with him this week with his determination. He goes beyond what the staff at the hospital ask for rehab. He is something else and awfully grateful for all the support he has been given.

Travis, every breath you breathe, every step you take and every move you make we've been praying would be deeper, longer and stronger than any doctor, technician, therapist or YOU could imagine, Sir. Get up, get strong and get on out of there just as soon as YOU feel like it!!!

HOOAH!!!!!

We are with you, Sir

I will be at Houston Raceway Park with the Gulf South Series this Saturday with Travis' car and selling t-shirt and decals for the Race to Recovery. Come by and see me and say hello if you are there. Travis enjoys hearing from his fans and I will have a notebook for you to send him a message. Hope to see you there!!!

I am waiting for word from Seattle from the evaluations and will post them as soon as I hear from the family with an update. Cross your fingers, we hope to get him back to Texas soon!!

Just heard from Travis' Mom---they did not have the evaluation team in today, they will be in Thursday. Travis had a rough day today. He wound care was aggressive with removing a lot of staples and all and he has had a tough time with pain today. He however worked in therapy earlier today for almost 3 hours! This guy is working so hard to get home! He is pushing forward, everyone is amazed with his determination and hard work. Thank you all for your support, prayers, and words of encouragement. Travis and his family are most grateful.

Still no evaluation today---sorry, and we were more disappointed than you! Travis was really counting on the evaluation and a projected date to come back to Texas.

Did you all see the picture of Greg and Travis in therapy? It was posted on Hoseheads, and I found it by accident as I was scrolling down to press releases. Check it out if you missed it.

We will hang loose until we hear from the Dr.s---sorry I have no real news, except out Travis is anxious to get home and working on getting more movement and use of the arms and hands! Go Team Travis!!!

Travis continues to push on and is spending as much time as possible in therapy and rehab to get himself ready to come home. The evaluation team has rescheduled for next Thursday. So let's keep our fingers crossed and cheer Travis on for a good evaluation and maybe a free pass to return to Texas!

I am going to Baytown Saturday with the Gulf South series---Greg is racing and I will be selling t-shirts for Travis' Race to Recovery---come by and say hello! See you there!

Racing last night at Houston Raceway Park was great. We had Travis' car behind the grandstands and were selling t-shirts For the Race for Recovery. I am always amazed at the fans and their concern for our "hard charger". This was the last race of the Gulf South series, and already I am missing the weekends packed with racing. Travis' family will at Cowtown and the Devil's Bowl. I will be missing these event to finish up my alternative certificate program to become a teacher! I want to thank the people that have support Travis at all the tracks! It is inspirational how the racing community supports its drivers and sponsors! I am proud to have become part of this community of people.

Travis showered for the first time last night and Maryanna was part of the wound care so that she can help Travis when he is released. The evaluation team will meet with him Thursday. So, maybe we will know more then. Maryanna still has some concerns with the wounds on his legs. Pray for healing, we want to get our boy back to Texas so family can be with him more. He is working very hard with rehab to regain strength and motion. I have never seen so much determination! This guy is amazing! He will win this race!!

Great News! Travis is coming to Texas!!! He will coming home this week, and the best part is that he will do rehab as an out patient! That means that he will be really at home!! His Mom and Dad are going to help get the house ready and him settled. Give the family a little time to get set up and settled please. They have not been home in 10 weeks and there is a lot to do to get moved in and functional.

Our "Hard charger" is in the final laps in this Race for Recovery and it is looking good!!! The family would like to thank everyone for all their support and help while he was in Seattle. Coming home is a big step in his recovery, but the race is not over, and he will be standing on the throttle still, even harder being at home. I will keep you posted with his progress, and again, thank you, thank you for all you concern and support, this is what racing is about-----it's the pit crew and sponsors that carry the driver, and you have been both!!!!

Travis is home !!! He was already working out with Russ Bohaty this weekend!! This guy is amazing! I sent Mr. Holland some pictures of Travis for a press release of him working out and one of him checking out his car. He still can not get in, but he will before you know it. He did drive his pickup down the block to a friend's house---one step closer to racing! The Race to Recovery is on in Texas now!!!!

Gotta love and admire Travis. He has really been working hard and it's paying off for him. He has always been one of my favorites (don't tell the other drivers Smile ) and I am just so proud of Travis. Welcome Home Travis!

If Russ is taking care of Travis he'll be a super star in no time. And he'll laugh his way through every workout he does with that old Rice Streeter! wink

Travis has to watch his health no matter how hard, or good he does recuperating. He has to stay away from infections which can do lots of complications to burn patients. Keep working hard, but don't overdue it, you don't want any kind of setback.......Sorry I'am just being realistic.
