He sounds like a Simons Jacka--,as for putting a show together the fair board did it last year for the fair races.I think the people the fair board has in place are excellent choices & I would even offer up some of my time to help out in any way possible. As far as the Simmons go, if they were on fire I would'nt piss on them to put them out.

I hate to spread rumors, but since my Daughter told me, I'll share it. She works with one of the hillbillys family members, and according to her, they wanted to keep the rights to the name "Wilmot Speedway" because they plan to sue anyone trying to use the name. Like I said, is just hearsay.

I did notice in todays paper, they said the former operator is maintaining the name Wilmot Speedway.

hate to burst your bubble guy but yes the fair boarb did promote the race but they did not run it. some people thinh they no what they are talking about. you raced a car or you seen a show its all different behind the scenss. no need to rip everyone apart that worked there. most of the people there did a great job to put the shows on,.you all dont like the simmons that fine.flag man and down were stuck doing thing they didnt want to do either. as a person who works alot of different tracks around wisconsin, i see alot and how things work.. every driver thinks he or she can do a better jobat running a track, but you realy do not no what it realy takes, thats the bottom line, take it from expereince and years around racing.

You must be a MS chassis buillder or customer. Either way your time is up. K-mart is now selling your product. Hopefully you won't be getting your spot back after 6 guys pass you, or your radiator goes and you have to pull up to the hose, or you have 3 flats. If you don't race good cause you shouldn't, sorry. Hail to the fair board take your time, do it right after the last 3 years take as long as you need. Wilmot and its real racers deserve it.

Maybe we could shift the conversation to the future. There are many gripes and complaints we could dwell on but guess what, nothing that HAPPENED is going to change. What we CAN do is discuss things that we can change. The future is brighter then is has been for quite awhile. We don't know for sure what's going to happen but we can get involved by speaking positive. I'm sure the fair board has heard nothing but negatives. How many times could you hear comments about how you have made nothing but bad decisions before you would just throw in the towel and give up.. Well I'm sure the fair board feels the same way. Many people have been asking for new management before they would ever race at Wilmot again. And guess what, you have new management. They are not going to do everything everybody wants, but they did as many have asked. They didn't have to. It was thier decision. Now lets not start complaining before things shake out. I guess in my opinion what we get can not be worse then what we had. It will be open, maybe not on a weekly deal this year, but lets help build it up, not tear in down before the gates even open.

Now that step 1 is out of the way,,WHO is on the Fair Board's list to promote Wilmot? Any ideas? I have one, but will not disclose it here. So, where does this leave the IRA,,, the WOS (Wisconsin Outlaw Sprints)? Has there been peace between the 2 groups? Huh, just imagine some sort of merger, or as was the case with the WoO Gumout and All-Star Series, a certain group from each sanction, in tandem, out there giving Wilmot RACEWAY the chance it deserves. Am I a dreamer, or what? I'm just throwing a couple of ideas out here for feedback. How DO the fans feel,, how about the individual drivers? 35-40 sprint cars at Wilmot EVERY Sat. nite,,,, again? Keep the Sportsman and Mini-Sprints,, OUT with them damned IMCA Enduros. Remember the nite when their feature was scrapped after 7 restarts? Enough is enough! Just trying to raise opinions here, that's all,, because I'm concerned. Who else is? Signed: Tim Barty

I agree that the imca induros must go, but the sprints need a support class or feeder devision persay. I think they should keep the mini sprints or enen try a non wing 360 class. As far as a split between the IRA and WoS I didn't know there was one. The wos are a good group of guys that would rather race locally than travel and do what they can afford. As far as the IRA well most of those guys have a Little bigger budget to work with and would like to race for a little better purse. I know the wos buys would like to be able to do that to, but like I said they can only do what they can afford and have the time to do it. The IRA has everything going for itself right now. Ya it would be nice if they race wilmot more but wilmot needs its own identity with its own weekly program such as the wos. Both groups did well before this last rechem took over. Know lets see if both groups can co exist and prosper.

An entry level Late Model or Sportsman class, not both, and maybe the Mini-Sprints would be something of interest. You almost have to have 3 classes run, as long as there are not to many (BOZO'S), to bring in back gate money, in order to pay the drivers. Who knows, pay the Sprints well enough, and maybe some of them will not feel inclined to travel. They could make a little bit more, without traveling, than making back marker money.

Alternating is alright, but absolutely NO 4 classes on the same night. That is just too much.

first like to say i do hope the track does great. hate to see any track do bad, this track has been around along time and hope to see it around alot longer,,  and no iam not a ms builder. or anything like that, i was on the safty crew there the last 3 years and helped tech last year some, but i also do tech for lions club and also help with mid-american race series. also raced for many years, so ive seen inside and out of all this. its very hard to run a race track and i wish the new promoter good luck .. lets see it work for the drivers and all the fans that support what we love so much.. good luck.

Sorry Randy, thanks for your hard work the last 3 years. The IMCA class was a joke but there were a lot of jokers running in it. Sprints are the big draw but the IMCA's are wilmots bread winner any night the IRA isn't running. Just tighten up the rules 2 spins your outie. Then set up a ring by the hose in the pits and let these guys hash it out. If someone blasts you in the $SS for your second spin and he wants to go to the ring then let em do it. Mini sprints are great and the class has grown considerably let em run every week. After that bring in remote control cars who cares.

Hey, anybody hearing anything? Been real quiet from my sources. Has anyone talked with Joe Roe?

The new domain name "wilmot raceway.com" has been purchased but no web-site yet. Lets hear some news.
