Yep it was put together "just for him" to race. Good lord. Eagle tomorrow is $1,500.00 to start. They've put together stout purses for a lot of drivers. God forbid you be thankful.

It wasn't put together by somebody else "just for him".    It was put together by he and Brad.    They chose 13 dates that fit Kyle's busy schedule 100% of the time.   They chose the tracks he wanted to visit.

Without the high purses,  Kyle wouldn't have the high competition level.     Let's be realistic here.   We get some good racing so we can still be thankful at the same time.

So it wasn't put together "just for him" but it was put together just for him.   That's what your post actually says...

He and Brad own the series.   It was put together "by him".      For himself.

Larson has basically admitted it was a clown show move and said he wouldn't do it again which is the most important thing. High Limits original intent supposedly was to "grow the sport", unclear if they are doing that but at least the purses are good.

Here is a simple fix to this: Beat him on the track. Don't pound the wall and flip. Don't run into another car who is having mechanical trouble. Don't get nervous when he shows you a nose and start making mistakes.

Tired of him winning? Then beat him!

if this was telling spire motorsports to pony up and go beat the top driver in nascar...who right now might happen to be kyle larson as well...i would agree.

i was trying to think of comparisons to just telling high limit drivers to beat a nascar champion and knoxville nationals/king's royal champion.  it reminds me of the eternal argument in pennsylvania about whether private schools should play their own state playoffs.  my high school northwestern lehigh is looking at getting destroyed in the state softball playoffs on thursday by a catholic school near philadelphia.  it would be an incredible win if the tigers can do it...but they're going up against a school that can draw talent from anywhere.  they're not limited to the boundaries of their district.  it's even more absurd when they don't play in the highest classifications.

sort of like larson creating a series for the little guy but then dropping down to pound on them.  it's not like he's lining up the outlaws every night or even srx stars like stewart in his series.  maybe a better idea would be to just be at the track signing autographs as a figurehead.  most people would probably appreciate that more anyway.

i like kyle larson.  the dirt nerds podcast spelled things out well this week though.  he's at risk of taking a pretty big hit to his reputation if this falls apart.  i think of him as being a down to earth guy who happens to be really talented at driving a race car.  he's at risk of losing that if he keeps trying to over-rule the people he appointed to run his races like his opinion and judgement is all that matters.

I can't get it on my TV no matter what I do.   I do have it on my laptop though.   Not sure why...   truth be told I probably won't be renewing with Flo.   I'm just not all that impressed with it.

If you go old-school-----laptop and HDMI cord to TV---you will have no issues.  I gave up on the TV years ago with DV and FLO.  I have older smart TV's and brand new smart TV's and NONE of them will stream a race.  Laptop streams it flawlessly every time.  I know it's not ideal, but it works!!

Even on my laptop it was buffering a bunch.   DirtVision rarely does that.   I watch that on TV and my wife is still streaming facebook and YouTube videos and neither of us has issues doing that.   We're on ATT fiber, so that's more than capable regardless of device I think.   We'll see what Flo does tonight I guess.

High Limit should probably have one of their $50k to win shows at Eagle next year. Why the WoO hasn't gone back there especially with I-80 gone is beyond me.

Money !  Knoxville and Husets  don't want Eagle to get a show.  It's been that way in Pa for years,  I know of 2 tracks that wanted the outlaws  but always get over looked. Selinsgrove and Grandview. They made the New York swing that was a joke, New York has big block mods, it is not sprint car territory. They could easily do a Tuesday thru Sunday, 6 nights in pa for some hi paying races yet it never has and never will happen.

Eagle  was short track racing at its finest.Hole took Marks chance away and to see Knoxville best be lapped shows you how good Rico.Kyle,Gio,are at these bullrings prepared to showcase their talent. Fun to see Sheldon but  has to honor his WOO commitment. Larson needs to start shotgun to show if He is the best which He sure seems to have more fun but knows where his bigger checks come from. Nascar is a race of strategy pit stops and not ruffling too many feathers Races like this make strongest motor win big half miles not as exciting

Of course they will upgrade the catch fence, as soon as it kills somebody.   That's how things work in racing.

As to the fencing at Tri City, it has been that way for a long time (even in the days of the 1/2 mile).  I avoid sitting very low there for that reason.

I will say I was there about 10 years ago when a non wing car (Kevin Thomas, Jr I think) got into the front stretch fence.  The cables did kick him back onto the track so the fence did it's job that night.  Before impact, I was thinking he was coming thru.

My concern there has always been that I don't think the fence is tall enough (especially for sprints).  If someone jumped a right rear on the front straight, it looks quite possible a car could clear the fence.  Not as likely since track was shortened since speeds are lower, but I am somewhat amazed it never happened in the old 1/2 mile days.  Also, back in the 90's they ran sprints every week for at least a few years.

The parking lot at Eagle last nigh>  For all the negative posts around Kyle winning them here is my response.  The High Rollers will be around for a long time...

Bacon's flip over turn 1/2 at Terre Haute might have cleared the Tri City fence.

Saw that one online.  It most likely would have.  Also, Bacon (I think) got way high into the Tri City fence in turn 1 at one of the Gold Crown events a few years back.  The fencing in the corner is new since it was put in when the track was shortened.  I think he was pretty high then also.  Fortunately the odds of getting that much air on the straights are less than in a corner.

IMHO, High Limit so far has been more entertaining than WoO, more variety, strong fields

It was a shame to see Marks get screwed by a rough track. I don't claim to be a track prep expert by ANY means, but HAZARDS should be elliminated. Fun to warch Larson win, but maybe they should hype up the situation by putting up a bounty? Or make him start at the back of his heat & fight his way forward? He doesn't really need all that $$$, does he?

Marks didn't get screwed by a rough track. The dip was there the entire night, and I saw no one else get upside down becasue of it.

I'll say it again - these guys see that the 57 is right behind them, and they drive differently and press.

The series wouldn't exist without him..yes, he wants to race more sprint car races, but it's good for everyone. Drivers, fans, and racetracks that don't get a ton of winged 410 races. Spotlighting these tracks is fantastic. There hasn't been a 410 race at Eagle since 2017 and I, for one, am pumped.

The "hole" or "dip" in turn one at Eagle has been there for as long as I've attended races down there which is at least 20 years. I'm not sure why or how. Kinda bizarre.

Track question- when a dirt track produces a hole like that, is there any fix to it? I imagine taking one of those Wirtgen machines they use around here on road repair jobs. Those babies eat the top layer of asphalt or concrete off a street like it's nothing. Could something like that be used to take off the edges around a hole?
