I call bullshit on your complaining ass...Williams Grove used multiple HL sessions to push the track out of 16 into 17 nearly every TT race this year...I sat thru it dozens of times since 1964 and it is the only area track on a steady decline for 40 years running.
Time to drink all the kool aid you got left and leave the rest of us alone...Port gets my vote as the most improved track, facility, management hands down and we would all support you to keep eating dust at the next Saturday night track to close.
Lincoln 1845 ft/.35 mile T1=118MPH
Eldora 2287 ft/.43mile T3=135MPH
Port 2716 ft/.51 mile T3=TBD
Grove 2792 ft/.53 mile T3=135MPH
Selinsgrove 2847 ft/.54 mile T1=136MPH

I measured the track and the actual footage is in my signature and it is backed up by google earth...until Johnny Gibson walks it with an architect's wheel, he's bullshitting you.

Yes, the facility is nice. The track is what is lacking. They don't put enough water on the track and that makes for boring racing for the feature. No, Port isn't a complete half mile in the groove.....sorry to crash your party. Not the measurements port uses. I was just on Google earth and in the groove it is less than a half mile.
This Saturday it will be black from bottom to top. Racing will be so....so. With no driver taking any risks. But if that is what you want to see go for it. I work to hard for my money to waste it on lack of entertainment and boring racing....reminds me of napcar.
Like I said, I have gone West a lot since 2000 and there is other tracks faster than the Port with a lot better racing.

Eldora - 2nd Best Track in the USA!

I wasn't talking about Central PA. I guess you don't go outside of PA? I have been to tracks where in warmups they had to bring the cars that were in the first warmup session and sometimes the second session back out because it was too wet.....yes they do get into the 15 second bracket every night and yes they are a complete half mile in length. Without the help of mother nature. Not only that but by feature time do these tracks have multilple grooves where the drivers feel confortable to make unbelievable moves. Moves that make you say oh my....did you just see that?! Unlike the Juniata County oval.
Port isn't a half mile either in the Groove. Just ask Johny Gibson.....he has said in the past that port is a little under a half mile in distance.
I have been going to races since 1982. Started going every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday fom 1983 to 1989. I used to go to Port everyweek in the early 2000 for about 4 or 5 years. Now, I pick and choose my races.
With my son....I will be making more trips to races outside PA over the next few years. I have seen a lot of badly prepared tracks in my day. I have also seen a lot of good ones too.

I can't remember the last time Port was black top to bottom, unless you count Labor Day. Is there another "Port" somewhere that you're talking about, because it's not Port Royal, PA????

I guess you didn't see the track when they had the 305's and the other small car nationals the other week? That was the most recent time. Black top to bottom and that is what you will have this Saturday!
I have seen highlights of many of races from the Port and yes it is black most nights before the features even pushes off and that means the track is way past its best racing of the night.

Well by all means Strawser, keep going west and avoiding Port Royal. The great track, facility and the awesome fans don't need your lame, bitching, know nothing ass in the seats there. Port will do just fine without you and your three friends. Keep going to Selinsgrove and watch it circle the drain. Enjoy the ten late models and fifteen sprint cars each and every week.

Look pal, I walked the track twice that night- measuring BOTH racable grooves / high and low and the number you see is the mean value...my numbers are spot on - I make a respectable living with that same measurement tool.
I have some advice for you...do not go to Port Royal ever again...every driver signed in is taking a bigger risk on any given race night than your sorry ass will ever be faced with...and they may know what you look like.

Being from the Midwest, I have never been to Port Royal or the PA tracks. But......I do pay close attention to what goes on out there, I catch every PPV from there that I can and also watch all the replays I can find. From what I've seen.....Port Royal is a hell of a facility and I've watched plenty of damn good racing from there. And for sure, Port Royal would be on my bucket list if I thought for a moment I could fill the bucket!

Sorry, but I only go to Selinsgrove every once in a while mostly when the 410's are there or a big 360 show. I do the same for Williamsgrove. I never did that for Lincoln, but I will probably do that as well. Port isn't and will not be on my radar for the next few years unless they figure out the track. I would rather watch paint dry or grass grow.....about as much excitement. I will also be making at least one trip West for big shows maybe more.

It's pretty simple actually.
1) Go to Lincoln and have fun. Seriously. Enjoy it.
2) When someone posts about Lincoln you'll be able to join the conversation and post with firsthand knowledge of how the track was prepped and how the racing actually was.
3) If someone posts about a race at Port Royal that you didn't attend, don't post. Let us who enjoy the track and the racing have a civil, grown-up conversation about it. But again, don't post. Fight the urge, Homey.
4) That's pretty much it. It'll help you to appear to be less of a fool.

Have fun at Port tomorrow. I'm sure it will be a great show as always. I would be there as well, but I got another priority .... Penn State/Michigan football at the Beav!! Go Nittany Lion Posse!!

I didn't ask for your opinion punk. You won't be there so don't concern yourself with what kind of racing I may see. You must not have received a lot of attention from mommy and daddy when you were young so you try to find it here. I feel sorry for your son if you really have one.

Strawser is either clueless or just has a bug up his ass about Port. It's not just the best facility but it is the best prepared race surface on a regular basis by a long shot. Smooth, fast and racey. Can't ask for much more than that. It's not my regular track anymore but I get there at least 5 times a year and IMO the racing is better than it has ever been. That's no small feat considering how locked down these cars are nowadays on a big half-mile. Of course Lincoln will always be racier because it's smaller.

Now having said that, I wish they would learn to run a more time efficient show. Every time I go there, it's a late night it seems. 5 hours for 3 divisions last night.

I decided to stay home last night but that's been a problem for many years now. Most of the time, it would help tremendously if they started on time because they literally never do. They're almost always at least a half hour late. I don't care personally but a lot of people, especially those with kids, do care. They need to seriously get their shit together in that department.
