Hey Denny White, you want something special, how about a round of golf with Jack and Johnny in your foursome along with Dave Reiff.  I had that pleasure a couple of times in the All-Star tourney in Florida during Speed Weeks, most fun I've ever had on the golf course.  Jack Miller's voice is an all time Classic, likely my favorite ever.....

I would beware.  I once played a round of golf with Jack and Johnny.  I thought it was funny that they were both wearing black, but I said nothing nonetheless.  Well anyway, I'm hittin shots left and right, and wouldn't you know it, those two jokers refused to step outside of the cart.  I couldn't believe it.  Well I kept on hittin shots and the last thing I remember was seein this pretty young lass over on 8, asking me if I needed any help.  I yelled to her, "Help? What the hell do I need help for? I got my boys Jack and Johnny right here." I then asked if she'd like to join me and the fellas.  She just rolled her eyes and walked away.

I don't know what happened after that, but I do know that the head groundskeeper woke me up off of 17 and said I needed to get the hell out of there and that he was gonna have my ass in a sling.  As I sat up, I realized why he was so pissed off at me.  The cart was in the water hazard with the headlights on, I made a sand angel in the trap, and my clubs were strewn about.  Jack and Johnny were nowhere to be seen.  I seethed at the fact that my boys had left me high and dry so I said, "Where the hell are Jack and Johnny?"

The groundskeeper said, "Jack and Johnny!? Who the hell are Jack and Johnny!? Son, you been golfing by yourself all damn day.  And scaring the other golfers too." Weird.....

Oh!  I shot a 101 that day if you're curious.

Gotta say it's been an entertaining few days as I sit here in California preparing for this weekend's World Of Outlaws event at Stockton Dirt Track. I don't plan to switch series anytime soon, but thanks for the smiles/comments.

Glad to hear that JG! You are as much a part of the Outlaws as anyone. Listening to you call a race is the next best thing to being there!

Now that the inevitable has happened and a bunch of rumors have been put to rest, can we talk truly annoying announcers starting with ASCS National Guy? Nails on a chalkboard with the ringmaster voice and 300 words per minute non stop sponsorship spewing bile that comes out of his mouth. About the most annoying person I've ever heard live and the personality of a calculator on the microphone.

Shaun Brouse, Port Royals announcer and Williams Grove backup announcer.  Probably the most annoying voice and he never stops talking.  I remember him saying on labor day.  "Welcome folks to the Labor Day classic on Labor Day."

I remember last year at Osky the two announcers never stopped talking and the PA system was way too loud when cars weren't on track. Five minutes of silence isn't a bad thing every once in awhile.

My favorite announcer was and always will be Jack Miller. Jack had a style that made you feel he was talking just to you. On top of that, he was a really great guy. Really miss him. RIP Jack.

MSPN, I never had the chance to play golf with 4 "choirboys" like you four! But I'll bet it was an interesting day to be sure.

Windy McDonald from Manzy was the worst in my book. JG is the best in the business IMO.

Announcer preference is just like music. Some people will like a particular announcer while others don't. In my opinion, there are some announcers I like, some I don't but its a tough job to do. Much tougher than most people probably realize. Even if they're annoying, as long as they keep the fans informed and most importantly give a proper shout out to the sponsors that support the teams, track and series, they're a good announcer in my book. For the record, I really like Johnny Gibson. He's my favorite and in my opinion, the best there is right now.
