Yeah midgets are great on small tracks like PV and Kutztown. I think Kutztown is a little smaller than PV. I think a 1/4 mile can work for full size sprints as long as it's wide and banked enough.

That makes sense
I think Linda's might be even smaller, no? Saw the USAC Midgets there too. I like the name... its like Linda had a big yard & decided to build a race track (which I think is pretty much the story?)

I'm with you small tracks. Duke is my name. I was in the army my 5th of 21 years active duty when I got AOL for the first time and needed a handle. I've been ArmyDuke ever since, not original I know. And a blue devil basketball fan for over 50yrs also lol.

To build on the comment about speed and standing in Turn 3/4 at Knoxville....another excellent place to get a feel for the speed is at Eldora if you come out of the tunnel by Turn 3 after exiting the pits and climbing the steps and look towards turn 3....with the billboards on the backstretch you can't see the cars approaching until they all of a sudden "pop out" right in front of you and you then get a chance to watch them "compress" as they hit turn 3 still at full throttle. Whenever I have a newbie going with me to Eldora, I make a point of standing there during a portion of the hot laps...usually see jaws drop when this happens (even for some seasoned sprint car fans).

You guys should have gone to Port Royal back when they had the old bleachers that were basically right on top of the track. There was no grassy median, no walk way; the bottom row was about 3 feet from the outside wall of the track and you were at ground level. Talk about a rush, damn near blew your head off when they came flying out of turn 4. lol
