I might be wrong, but I would think those doing the Knoxville - Selinsgrove double will have a car both places and fly to PA from IA.

Danny has drove from port to Knoxville for nationals week before

You people who can't understand how young guys can do the knoxville to Selingrove double must have no sense of adventure.
My Son and Daughter-in-law do one half or the other of Indiana Sprintweek at least every other year. Last year my wife and I (64 &67) decided to join them. They left Thursday to start with Gas City. Our plans were to leave Friday morning and meet them at Plymouth and end with Larwenceburgh and drive home Monday. On Wednesday I was told I could only be off work for Friday. I got home from work around six on Thursday. My wife said we could leave by eight drive part way & get a room and finish the trip Friday. We left around eight and during the evening decided it wasn't worth it to get a room for five or six hours. We stopped at rest area near the Pa. Ohio line and slept for an hour and a half. Started out across Ohio. About eight Friday morning we came to Gas City and stopped to look around there and talked to the cleanup crew. Went on to our hotel in Kokomo. Went to Plymouth that night. Kokomo on Sat night. Sunday morning left for Lawrenceburgh. Went to the Cascino there then the races. It started to rain as the sprint feature ended. We ran for the car and drove through the night in driving rain most of the way. I slept for couple of hours while they drove because I to work Monday. We stopped in Somerset for a bathroom break around five Monday morning. I drove the rest of the way home, walked in the house, changed clothes and left for work.

I had two PPV channels and watched races in PA and CA on the same night several times. It was grueling but I managed to make it through both without falling asleep on the recliner. Just kidding, I have always been one to wait for the big shows to come to the track 32 miles from the end of the driveway.

I am ok to stay awake on a trip like we took but if tried to do what you did on the recliner I would fall asleep for sure.

I have hung in there and fell asleep in the recliner as the Feature pushed off a few times. I'd still be traveling to races but when I bowed out of the media work I lost all of my racing buddies I used to travel with. We made trips to Jackson, Knoxville, Husets, Sun Prairie, Eldora and Lakeside to name a few but no way I can do that traveling alone. Everyone eventually gets to an age and/or circumstance where the overnight drives become too difficult. That's where I'm at losing my travel buddies and my son's kids at an age where he can't get away overnight. Now I have a hard time driving 32 miles home from the closest track.

Where did you start? Pa.? Looks like you ended up in Indiana... Knoxville is another big chunk of driving from there
My buddy & I hitch hiked from Denver to Connecticut in 48 hrs. back in the summer of 69 (for Woodstock!) Big time saver was that we got a ride from Colorado Eastern plains all the way across Kansas to Missouri in a US Mail truck, slept the whole way on mail bags. That could never happen today. Best trip thru Kansas EVER!!!

With any list like this, there is always going to be debate about the guys that barely got in versus the guys that barely missed out.
Not knowing all of the Knoxville regulars or the PA drivers, who would you dropped to have Jac in the race?

FloRacing also has the Thursday SLM "2020 DirtonDirt.com Shootout" and the bonus there is that you get USAC and All Star races, It's been fun to watch all the old Thursday/Saturday Night Thunder shows....and even some things from the 70s/80s from various sources.

Thanks for the heads up. I have Flo and will check out the Late Models tonight. Don't forget the IRA out of Wisconsin is on the Flo lineup so if they ever get going over there we will see the IRA as well. That is one of the reasons I got Flo as I have been following the IRA for about 20 years now.

7Taz, Tasker Phillips. He would be first to drop out to make room. Keep an eye on him, he is my pick to cause the first caution flag that involves multiple cars.

I'd reckon Tasker has had more speed at Knoxville recently compared to Jac, and he supports the track weekly. I'd say he more than deserves it over Jac.

I agree 100%. Tasker has improved a lot of the past few years. Sawyer as well. And they do support the the track 100%.
