Wayne County Speedway in Wayne City Illinois. Baddest little 1/5 mile midget track in the country. The Jason Lefler Memorial is one of my fav's each year at this joint! Five Stars!

I just got word that some kinda poop hit the fan between parties involved with Saint Croix Valley and all Sprints were pulled off the card. If they go back to a Stock Car and Modified deal I'll have to take back my endorsement. My wife and I are seriously considering moving into the family lake home for a few years after I retire. It's only five minutes from the track so I hope they get their stuff together before then.

Well I've been to a lot of tracks , but not some mentioned here by others , guess I have more travelling to do if I see a race that interests me . But you could break it down two ways by facility or by racing action . Nicest facility I've been to is Lucas OIl Speedway , just like them to get a few more high profile races there. Perris , Port Royal , and Sharon are also nice facilities . Not sure what I would rank as best racing but in Pa I would have to say Grandview as most exciting racing action , have never seen a bad race there , don't care for the facility . Susquehanna has also had great racing at times and it will be even better now that new clay and grandstand will be added . Kokomo for non-wing racing action , if you haven't been there then go , facility could be better along with concession foods , some of the worst I've had .

Lincoln has the best food at at Pa. racetracks (trucks, not concession stand)
But Knoxville Nationals has the best selection overall. Do they have the same food at weekly races, anyone?

There is a SMALL 1/4 mile red clay track hidden away in north east Arkansas called Crowleys Ridge Raceway. Unfortunately they only host sprints a couple times a year and that's just a USCS race then a 305 show. The racing is usually fantastic. Tight, high banked track. Trent Francis runs the place and, unlike most track prep guys, he actually works the track during the week and doesn't wait until 10:00 Saturday morning.
There is no replacement for cubic displacement

Earl Baltes spent alot of time and money to make Millstream The Little Brother to Eldora in the early 80s.

Agreed. I've lived in Central PA for my entire life and this was as close to home as I could get. However, I was a little surprised at the amount of back marker cars. I'm a Lincoln giy and have come to know a fairly competitive field. And I liked that they serve beer. That's a nice benefit. It was like a stadium, covered bleachers, nice racing surface. Worth a visit.

GT730 are most of the tracks in Pa half mile tracks? I hope to make a trip out there next summer, hit a couple tracks in between seeing the sights,

I'm not GT 730, but yes, most of then are half mile. I can tell you for sure that Williams Grove & Port Royal are halves, Lincoln is 3/8 & Path Valley is 1/4. Pretty sure Selinsgrove & Grandview are halves too.
Don't know about western Pa.

Grandview is 1/3 high banked.
Lernerville is 4/10, but they refer to it as a small half-mile.

I accidentally hit post before I completed i writing...
Selinsgrove and Bedford are both 1/2 miles.
Mercer and Roaring Knob are 3/8 mi tracks in Western Pa. PPMS is a 5/8 mi track.
So yeah, plenty o' halves in PA.

I believe 34 Raceway Park in West Burlington Iowa is one the best. Great facilities, although the Men's room needs attention. Excellent lighting, 50 year history of racing, has hosted some major shows, such as World of Outlaws, MOWA, and is basically home of the Sprint Invaders.

Grandview.
Great midget track and wings are good there too.
Neat to watch from the stands between turns 3 & 4.
Concessions not so good except the fries.

141 is fantastic. You can watch racing from the bar if you desire. Great people, great food, clear updated facility. They are ready to host big events.
|
I agree that 141 is a great facility with great food, and great people. Track is uniquely shaped which makes racing interesting. However, define "big events". They lack the seating capacity to hold, say, a World of Outlaws show. Unless Ticket prices are raised.
I also agree with a previous post about Angell Park. Honestly, some of the best winged racing I have seen in a long time took place at Angell Park this year. Each night the track was prepped before the IRA features, and it was RACY throughout. Would love to see the All Stars run there the night after they run Wilmot, WI each year. This is a gem sprint car track with side by side racing all night.
I dont think they have ever run here before, but every time I see videos of the place I always think I'd love to see a sprint car (winged or non winged) go around there. Tazewell, TN. I know WoO has run Bulls Gap, which may be pretty similar. I have also never been to Tazewell. Have only seen videos
Real race cars don't have fenders...
