Ford stinking the place up as per usual, some things never change.  The Thursday show was the only decent show at the Nationals this year and intelligent fans know and talk about this, cheerleaders like yourself haven't a clue and you prove it with every post.  It's so typical you don't find non-wing racing to be often more exciting, you wouldn't know reality if it hit you over the head with a hammer which might have been the original probelm with your very limited brain.....

Once?...

I love sprint cars however in Iowa about all I get to see is Winged action. If there were more shows with in driving distance I'd probably hit up more.

I will be hitting up a non wing and winged show with no taxi cabs this friday in Memphis, MO. One of the best race these eyes have saw was the ultimate challenge maybe 6-7 years ago, in Osky.

Depending on where you're located in Iowa you might want to consider the Jerry Richert Sr. Memorial at Cedar Lake on September 12.  UMSS Traditional (non-wing) cars will be on the card with UMSS winged 360's and a joint NSL/IRA 410 show for the big dance of the night.  The UMSS Traditionals use a limited motor with an alky carb but generally bring in a full field and most of the drivers have been running the class long enough that they know what they're doing.  Free camping on the grounds, the celebration of the career of a HOF driver, you can't miss on this one.

As a petrol head I am a fan of all things internal combustion. But for me its wing Sprint cars. I've owned, driven, crewed on both types and for me the electricity/tension at a wing race is far greater.

Are most winged heats snoozers? Yep. Can there be less passing in the feature? Yep, and that's one that gets me, non wing fans are quick to point out that they'll see more passes, my responce is , that doesn't mean they were passing good cars. Of the NW races ive seen, if its a field of Darlands, stanbroughs, Bacons etc passing is just as limited. And the way I see it there are 2 main reasons that NW is popular in Indiana. 1) Jeff Gordon. many feel that since he came thru Indiana they can follow his footsteps to stardom. 2) it allows weekly tracks to pay a lesser purse. I heard this first hand from a promoters mouth.

Ive seen some duds & barnburners in both but Depending on how time/work goes this weekend I'll likely ride 200 miles to watch wings when I could go 30 miles & see NW.
