Right now the entries for the 3rd Annual IMCA Racesaver Sprint Car nationals presented by Precise Racing Products and Hoosier Racing tire stand at 102 (some dropping off due to crash and engine issues and some new entry's taking their places) now 3 entries from the left coast......the event, which includes a free practice session and tech inspection on Thursday Sept 3, Friday's A main qualifier will lock in the fist 9 cars, then a complet new qualifying program on Saturday will fill positions 9-18 and also include the $1000 to win Jake Ita Memorial Race Of Champions now includes 33 of the best the Racesaver division has to offer, and the list of contingency prizes and gifts is increasing daily (the latest being from NAPA Auto Parts......a special three day spectator pass for $30 makes this event a great bang for the buck......don't miss the fastest 27 battling it out for 35 laps at "America's Home Track".......hope to see ya' there....you WON'T be disappointed................SC

I know this is an apples to oranges comparison, but I still have to mention it

There are many similarities between this 3 year old event and a certain big sprint car event that has been going on for 55 years now. Over 100 cars coming to this race from all over the country. A great payout (compared to normal for this class) to win/make the A. Good payout for non qualifiers. Tons of contingency sponsors. Tons of special awards. Lots of buzz. And a history, albeit a short one, of some pretty darn good racing.

It's apples and oranges...no way does a race for an economy/entry level class of cars belong in the same discussion as the grandaddy of big time dirt racing events... I know this...

But the folks at Eagle damn sure deserve as many atta boys, high fives, compliments and accolades as the folks in Marion County do. For not only making this event what it is but for how good a job they have done growing this class on a weekly level at thier track. I remember plenty of doomsday negativity a few years ago when they announced that they were replacing their 360 class with racesaver cars and I applaud them for taking the risk and making it work.

So...NICE JOB to everyone involved with Eagle, all the guys and gals who support their weekly show, and all the racesaver guys/gals from across the country who make the tow to this race each year. Keep up the good work.

the car. Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall and

Cars rolling in, with quite a few already through pre race tech with began last night.......rumors have the defending champion Jack Dover securing a ride,  and it appears, he will  be back defend both the "Race Of Champions" and the Championship trophies.......Free practice sessions tonight from 7 to 10..................SC

62 Racesaver Sprint Cars took to the track last night at the open practice sesssion for tonight's first night of qualifying as Precise Racing Products and Nebraska Machinery present the 3rd Annual Racesaver IMCA Sprint Car Nationals at Eagle Raceway..... 83 cars have already been through pre-race tech inspection, and I was told 8-9 are making adjustments to be compliant before tonight's action which begins at 7:30.  Qualifying heats, mains, qualifiers for the Jake Ita memorial Race Of Champions will take place, with positions 1-9 in the A Main event locked into the first 9 starting positions for Sunday's 27 car Championship Feature......a complete new program on Saturday will fill positions 10-18, and the final 9 cars will transfer from Sunday's B Main event after running down the alphabet soup of qualifying mains......Unofficially, (no transponder timing was used last night)  I was told California's Blake Robertson, Texas' John Carney II, and Nebraska's Trevor Grossenbacher turning in the fastest times of the practice sessions.......should be a great event.............SC
