I look at these Danica posts on dirt track boards this way.  When Danica hatin' posts on Sprint Car message boards receive more replies than actual Sprint Car discussion Danica has already won.  When we read articles or watch clips about her they don't care what we think about her driving, we're just another stat that affirms her ability to attract our attention and sell ad space. 
The funny thing about all this is that while Petty and Stewart are yapping back and forth about it Danica handled this with dignity.  She has been gracious and realistic about her status in NASCAR and didn't allow this to draw her into a pissing match with Petty.  Stewart is the one who started all this stuff about a match race.  Tony has a lot of pride in his racing teams and he doesn't like to take any sh*t so that's no surprise.  The usual suspects are all behaving in the usual ways just like some WWE sparring match between the good guys and bad guys.  Racing should be able to sell itself but NASCAR has a lot of empty seats to sell so they've got to be loving this.
This thread is another reason to look forward to spring.  We'll all be too busy going to races to pay any attention to NASCAR.

I agree, and Kyle Petty is a BIGGER dick.....  

There is this underlying assumption that Danica is a no-talent hack.   This is not true.   She has talent.   Are there other people out there that have more talent?  Probably so.  Do those drivers get the media attention that Danica does?  Not even close.   

But let's be realistic about the comment she has done nothing in great equipment.   We have had several sprint car greats have the same experience.   JJ Yeley drove for Joe Gibbs.   Dave Blaney drove for RCR.  Neither one of them did any better than what Danica has done.   Will Danica get to stay around longer in good equipment that Dave and JJ?  yes.  ARe Dave and JJ no talent hacks?  No

And don't forget that Kinser was a complete and utter FAIL in NASCAR.  Oh, Sammy too...

I really think king richard, whom all racing fans respect, should have avoided making those statements about danica--anyone who knows anything about racing would have to agree that statement  he made should have been worded thusly-- the only way KYLE PETTY COULD WIN A RACE, WOULD BE IF EVERYONE ELSE DIDN'T SHOW UP--do have great respect for Kyles charity endeavors--Danica is already better than Kyle ever was

True,Kyle did not set the world on fire in Cup but according to the records he has 8 Cup wins.

We will have to wait on the "Queen's" career in Cup to see how she does!

In the meantime GODADDY and FRANCECAR will milk her for all they can of that you can be sure!

So true.....she is doing no worse then 2 of the best to ever strap into a sprint car in the same great equipment....hard to argue that one...

and i agree Petty is a Dick...

And there is a problem with that why?

8 wins in 16 years.....So the jury is still out on Danica until I'm 68 years old...

Kyle's first FULL year in Cup was 1981.  He had 10 top 10 finishes.  That's nine more than your "Queenness!"  Suck it up big boys!  Was Kyle a great driver?  No.  But he has eight more wins than all the board jockies on Hoseheads!  She is filling the roll GODADDY and FRANCECAR have for her, quite well I might add, and that is marketing.  If she wants to race up front she should return to open wheel cars!

Not to mention Kyle never had the top notch equipment that Danica has. He raced for Petty Enterprises when it was on the decline as well as the wood brothers. He finished in the top 5 twice when he was with sabco and probably would have done better but they constantly had engine issues. He was probably the best to drive at Rockingham which is one of the hardest tracks to race at.

All Danica has going for her is marketing. Regan Smith has won 3 times in the car that Danica drove before him in the nationwide series and people won before her while she never won in it. I have no problem with her racing in the cup level but when someone says she isn't good don't cry about it...just face the facts.

You can add Steve Kinser, Sammy Swindell and Doug Wolfgang to the list of those who dabbled in NASCAR without much success.  If we use that yardstick Danica (gasp) is more successful than any of those three drivers.  One thing about Danica is that I think they put her marketability ahead of her Stock Car experience and rushed her along too fast.  Look at the long list of former Indy Car and F1 drivers who were average at best in NASCAR and ended up going back to open wheel.  I think the deal with NASCAR is that it's so different than any other form of racing and it's hard for a lot of Sprint Car and rear engine open wheel drivers to make the transition.  Every week Danica races I can rattle off a long list of talented Stock Car drivers that finished behind her for one reason or another. 

I saw a video clip on Facebook where drivers were bitching about Danica starting crashes over their radios.  Let's take a look at that for one minute.  What Stock Car driver hasn't lost it in front of the field and wadded up a bunch of cars.  Jimmy Johnson just did that the other day in his Duel race.  He ran out of gas in front of the field and collected a bunch of cars.  What's the difference between JJ and Danica?  Everyone understood that JJ ran out of fuel and couldn't keep up the pace and shrugged it off.  If Danica had done the same thing the sexist Neanderthals would have been calling her a stupid bitch for not getting out of the way when she found out she was low on fuel.  It's all a matter of perspective and I think some of the Danica hatin' mirrors the caveman type attitude towards women of some of our racing bretheran.

If Danica doesn't catch on this season she'll end up going the way of Jaun Pablo.  He's a great open wheel driver but he never filled expectations in NASCAR.  At some point if she last long enough in NASCAR those gray hairs and crows feet around the eyes are going to appear and she'll no longer be marketable in scantily clad outfits.  At that point we'll see if she can still draw the sponsor money and if she can't she'll get pushed out.  Personally as  husband and father of three daughters and a grandfather with four granddaughers I hope that she succeeds.  She's a good role model for the girls.  We've got women in the military flying jet fighters so what's the big deal about a woman driving a Stock Car?

If she wasn't an attractive female, she wouldn't have that ride.  If you can't agree with this the blinders are on.  That's really all he said, I don't think he's being sexist, he's not saying women can't race, he's saying if this one gets the attention she does because of who she is, not her results.  That should be pretty obvious, I don't know anyone personally that doesn't share that opinion.  Nothing against women racers, maybe not everyone thinks shes the creme of that crop though? 

Who cares,means nothing. All a publicity stunt due to lacking ticket sales.

Comparing Steve and Sammy's NASCAR experience to that of the "Queen" is a joke.  Their equipment was third-rate and she is in a-one cars every week.  No comparison.  Try something else!
