What I found interesting in the press release was when Craig was quoted saying "I also want to thank all of the marketing partners and manufacturers who have supported us along the way and will be continuing with us into the future."

The fact that it said the team was "dissovled" tells me that it's possible Tod is going to just 1 car in 2014.....

I think Tod's eyes were opened when Sammy took over for McCarl when it comes to the actual amount of $$ it takes to run a top team (from the sounds of it, Sammy spent ~ 1/2 the amount McCarl did with the same or better results (so the bottom line at the end of the season can still end up better even if you don't win as much or finish worse in ponts).
Another factor that I'm sure Tod takes into consideration is BRANDING, how many more T-shirts is Sammy selling than Craig. If it's double, that means the BRAND of Big Game Treestands is getting DOUBLE the exposure outside of the racetrack by being involved with Sammy over Craig.
No different than the other big sponsors through the years. It's all about ROI, and in sponsorship, ROI includes the merchandise sales as that's advertising that OTHER PEOPLE actually pay to wear as opposed to paying to have a TV commercial or billboard, or ad in a magazine.

I'm just curious where you got the info that McCarl spent twice as much money as Swindell. McCarl ran a lot more nights per season than Sammy does. He hit Husets weekly at least 6 nights in 2006 and 7 and hit Knoxville on a lot of Woo rainouts and off nights. I get touchy about McCarl criticism with Big Game. Terry developed that relationship and brought them on the road in 2005 from being a local sponsor around Sioux Falls He won races at Knox, WG and Eldora with the Big Game logo on the car and always represented the brand like a pro.

I never said twice as much $$, just said that Tod's eyes were opened by how much "spending waste" was being done with Terry running the team (let's say Sammy could rn the team and spend $500 less per race night, over the course of a 70 race season that's $35,000, I'd say that's enough to look at your program and who's running it wouldn't you?
When Sammy was subbing for Terry, the plan was to have a 3rd car for Sammy for him to run from time to time once Terry returned to the seat.
I don't know where you've watched McCarl race, but he acts the opposite of professional @ Knoxville (and many other tracks) DURING the night of the race event. It doesn't matter if you represent the sponsor well at PR events and such if you make an A$$ of yourself in front of the main people that see the car race EVERY WEEK. After the races, he's fine and probably one of the best people in the pits, but you can't be Dr. Jeckyl and Mr. Hyde...

Sprint 82... You sure know a lot don't you.

If Sprint 82 threw a rock hard enough he's so close to Craig's place he could break a window.

You never said Terry spent twice as much as Sammy, just that Sammy spent half as much as Terry. I see the difference. haha

Along with the extra wins, t shirt sales, and a HOF driver, I am sure having Sammy brings discounted and free parts/engines that the previous driver couldnt.

Henderson will not be the replacement as I believe he is under contract with Brian Sundby for Knoxville in 2014.

I believe Larson said it to soon for a WoO team. He's helping Colby Copeland out west, nothing else announced that I have heard.

Just read on NSSN that the #7 team is "dissolved." Won't be anyone driving the invisible car.
