See Hawker, I've now been on this board long enough that you will never get over the past and move on. You will forever be stuck whining and complaining about how bad it is now and how great it was then. How nobody will ever live up to Steve Kinser.

Well, there were legends before Steve Kinser and there will be legends after him. Someday, he will be nearly forgotten just as many legends of the early days have. Only some old dusty record books will keep the memory alive. You can sit there and keep reading those old books and be the rickety stubborn fool that you seem to have chosen to be or you can move on with your life and realize that racing will go on and you cannot control it as you seem to want to. Kinser is great, but many others will be in their own eras and generations. Times change and you cannot compare racing from decade to decade just as you can't compare other sports. It evolves, unlike you. Maybe someday you will learn that lesson, maybe not. Either way, the sport will go on without you.

Wow, can't believe you actually believe some of what you just typed. Steve Kinser will someday be "nearly forgotten?" LMAO. In 2000, the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame Poll ranked Kinser the number one all-time Sprint Car driver.

If Schatz wins every WoO title from now until he is 48 years old and every Knoxville Nationals until until the year 2017, he will then just equal what Steve Kinser has done.

Good point, but I have to disagree. Look who Steve had to race to get those numbers.

BTW, for those who think I'm a Kinser groupie, you couldn't be further from the truth. I have been a Sammy Swindell fan since the first time I ever saw him drive (Tulsa, 1979), but there is no denying greatness...

MSPN, why would I need an email listing of results each week when I can pickup my phone and talk to my friends who drive and work on cars in PA weekly?

Bigot - One who is strongly partial to ones own (group, race, religion or politics) and is intolerant of those who differ.

My goodness, your bigotry is showing! If the shoe fits wear it.

I don't mind differing opinions, heck i have some of my own wink

king donny?

kinser has won more non-sanctioned races than donny has WoO wins.

give me a break

Gee, I would never debate all the races Kinser has won but I do recognize talent when I see it. All racers have won my respect, besides I like some of the new guns coming up.

There comes a time in any profession or sport where the torch is passed to the next generation which is always a sign of maturity and leadership, so to see the respect Steve Kinser has for all the drivers speaks well of him and the future of the sport. I know he's been a great inspiration for the younger drivers who highly respect him and his proven track record.

"Where in the country do 4 former touring outlaws race on a weekly or regular basis?"

Dale Blaney, Danny Smith, Dean Jacobs and Rob Chaney have all been touring outlaws at one point in their careers and run Ohio regularly if not a weekly basis. Kelly Kinser and Ed Lynch JR. even make occasional visits and I'd be willing to bet that the grove's track record holder has ran more here than there lately.

If Fred or Lance jumped into an Ohio ride all of you would be screaming "POSSE" at the top of your lungs.

In California we have 4 talented drivers who run on a weekly basis that have also ran with the WoO at one time or another. They are Tim Kaeding, Brent Kaeding, Jonathan Allard, and Brandon Wimmer. Jason Meyers still runs locally when he gets the opportunity including the Mini Gold Cup in Chico and Trophy Cup in Tulare. We all hope our local drivers do well when the WoO comes to Calistoga, Chico and Tulare and also at the Knoxville Nationals.

Looking forward to the new Golden State King of the
West series schedule!
