Stop by Forrester Lincoln right between Williams Grove and Hagerstown, ask for Travis and buy what JD Power calls the most dependable car on the road. I work every day but Fridays.

Luna's Ford engine style that won 2 WoO titles and 3
Kings Royals before a weight rule against the best EVER
in their prime and now DOMINATES super dirt late model
racing is no longer allowed/wanted in a WoO sprint
car.... Was Luna a miracle worker?

You can get the crab Cake off the Rt 30 seafood truck at Lincoln, also the $7.00 pit beef, ham and pulled pork sammy's at lincoln are the BOMB! Over a Pound of meat in those babies.

Ignore anything this guy has to say...He gets to Lincoln 5 hours early to get the seat closes to the vent pipe to the turn 4 restroom...In fact, he's the reason that the VIP got relocated to turn 1 for twenty thirteen...#dumbass

Come on Stan I get there 3 hours early. How would you know this if you weren't there that early yourself? You're just mad I got the best seats in the house. I've had those seats since 2005. I like the view from there, and the shitter don't smell as bad as you think. Yeah some days you smell urinal cake, but I can deal with that. When the cars are racing you don't smell it anyways. Why am I the reason the VIP got relocated? Why am I a dumbass? What did I do to you that you're always busting my chops? Why are you only like this to me on the board, and not at the track? Do you not have the BALLS to say this to me in person? I'd really like to know, because I'm confused. I've always been nice to you. Why can't you show me the same respect? Maybe you can come down to turn 4 and answer these questions in person or here it doesn't matter, because honestly I'm a little pissed off right now. Why is your opinion so much better than mine? Just because you don't like something doesn't mean others can't try it for themselves. They just might like the Pit beef or Ham as much as I do. I'd eat that over the Chicken. I've Seen plenty of raw bird come off the truck. Enough that I won't eat it. The VIP was never in turn 4 to begin with. In all the years I've sat there I've never seen you in turn 4. You guys would cry you got dirt in your Hair.

Why then? Does me being a dumbass have something to do with what I said in The Walker thread? I might not be able to make it to Hagerstown Speedweek Show. I more than likely won't get off work in time to make it. That's 3 months away....lol I know we are pretty busy during the week of the 4th. Haven't made it the last few years. Sucks because I like the Hagerstown Speedweek show.I haven't been there since Jeff Shepard won. You going to be at the Grove or Lincoln before that?

Define "best" - like Courtyard by Marriot ?? - there's one at Gettysburg Road in Mechanicsburg that is not far - easy to get to - but not a lot of amenities nearby.

There's lots in Carlisle and others nearby like the Rodeway Inn in Dillsburg about 10 minutes away but its not the Marriot.

Book a place NOW!!! It's tough to get rooms on the weekends in the summer. There's lots going on. If you pick at Carlisle Car Show weekend, it's going to be tough to find a room nearby.

If your looking to get close to the track, pitch a tent @ the Tilton Hilton...The rates are low, and so are the standards...wink

Same as TxOutlaw

We are also coming to the July races at Williams Grove, 1st
Time out of KC.

We get there early Friday morning thru BWI and also have a
car, We don't go home till Monday afternoon, Planning on doing both race nights
and catching a Washington Nationals game on Sunday afternoon. We too are looking
for ideas on eats (not necessarily track food) Where to stay, not cheap, but
not high dollar anyway, We do Hampton Inn's Comfort Suites, Holiday Inn express
etc mostly.

Ideas for must see stuff for fun is appreciated from the PA folks!

Thanks!

Dassa,

There's a Hampton Inn right on Route 15 about 5 miles north of the Grove.

Figure needed to pull this back up to review the tips left…

Lets see…by going, we will now be “posse” ourselves…check

Need to eat some crab cakes….check

Got our shots…check

Goggles for beer hill…check

WOO shirt….nawww..no check

Beer koozie…check.

Cash…double check…

Looks like maybe the dang R word Saturday..

Any other things not mentioned we should do…goin to do at least Gettysburg

Sunday we are still doing game for Nationals and going by the metro and then doing a lighted nighttime tour of the monuments…and for a quick walk around the National Mall Monday morn before a late afternoon home

Hey at the track…question…we will bring a couple cushions….can you bring a small flat cooler?….they sell beer right?…How early to get there to score some decent tickets….best seat in ya’ll opinion…frontstrech?…if anything like Eldora last week…need goggles and a dustbuster, toothbrush….dry there? …Gonna be fun!!!

Sounds like a fun agenda  Saturday's forcast doesn't sound good...slight chance of storms tomorrow. I live 4 miles from the Grove and we're getting a storm as I type...was a very slight chance today according to the weatherman. Hoping for the best for you tomorrow.

Small coolers are ok...cans of course, not bottles. Beer is not sold at the track. I would call the track to see about ticket availability. I always get pit passes and stay in the infield, so I can't give you a good idea about how early to arrive for seating. High on front stretch is probably best view, but seats on backstretch are good as well.

I made it to Eldora a few years ago and you definately needed goggles. I sat in turn 3&4 and couldn't see the track for the first 5 or 6 laps of the feature. Even though it's been hot here this summer the dust at the Grove really hasn't been bad at all. That being said, with the WoO,  the water truck could be a rare sight.

Hope the rain stays away at least for Friday's show...enjoy youself and have a safe trip.

We cleaned a half inch of Eldora out of the backpack last night while packing....dry wasnt the word to use for last weekend....the people sitting in middle of turn 1-2 had the same thing...I said, how in the world can they even see the track..I took a picture of it...WOW.....Please do a non-rain dance...

You may try going to Arlington National Cemetary and visit the grave sites of JFK and brother Bobby if you are much of a history buff, American that is.  As a child of the 60's, even tho' a Canuck, Arlington was a special place to visit...
