I think the fact that Steve Kinser was able to win that IROC race so many years ago paved (pun intended) the way for Sprint Car racers to have success in Nascar. Like you say, they had to go to them at a younger age from Jeff Gordon to the latest Kyle Larson & all in between.

Danica was a very average player in a very average league (IRL). I heard on tv the other day Daytona has great seats still available for this years 500. You dont suppose NASCAR give her a different plate than everybody else so they could sell some extra tickets??? Im sorry but she isnt that good!! I have seen chicks who could drive sprints and midgets-----(Denise Bennett could drive a midget)!!

Read somewhere that the average finish for the pole sitter the last 25yrs or so was 15th. and the last 12 yrs the average is more like 17th. Not sure she comes out of this looking like a winner no matter how she does, unless she wins the thing and that's not very likely. I'm not a Danica fan, but I think she's doing a great job so far.

This is her 15th Year Racing, Her 3rd Year in NASCAR. She has a Grand Total of 1 Win in all that time with the IRL. This "Driver" should be almost Non Existent on the Highlight reels yet it is all we seem to hear about.

I said for Sprint Car racers to Nascar. All three you mention went to Indy Cars from Sprints.I'm just just saying it helped Sprint Car racers go straight to Nascar. This is why I hate to even post any opinion I might have, someone has to always jump on you for something. I'll just go enjoy my races myself and leave this to you "experts".

This post is 100% correct. Why is she even news in the racing world? For getting the pole position in Ricky's bed? WTF? Never, ever, ever did I think that we would be witness to a love affair involving two drivers in Nascar and all the bullshit drama that goes with it.

Not really Stan! Steve & Sammy cut their teeth on Sprint Cars and raced the majority of their careers doing nothing but that. They both tried Asphalt late in their careers but I truely believe that the radical nature of driving a Sprint Car is way so far off base from the NASCAR or INDY car that could not adapt. Maybe if given enough time and good equipment but that was not the case. Kenny Bernstien was a POS the way he did Kinser over. Danika cut her teeth on Asphalt.
Put this into perspective, If Danika were to get a top WoO ride from Tony Stewart, With her success in INDY & NASCAR could you see her competing in the top 5 or 10 with the World of Outlaws in 2,3 or 4 years? Could you see her making the Knoxville Nationals A-Main? Ever?
I'm not a Danika Basher, but I do believe if Steve Kinser or Sammy Swindell would have climbed into a Grand National Car in the 70's rather than a Sprint Car, They would have been one of the Best.

I am all for Danica. Hard to believe, but Nascar needs a person like her to draw interest in races. NASCAR ticket sales are down from a few years back. Steve Kinser was going to buy a house down south and commit 100%. Little did Steve know that the team was for sale and shop people were leaving to other jobs. Steve did run a Indy 500 race, I do not remember how he did, but he did ok till a crash. Sammy did not have a chance to see what he could do in trucks. Somehow as I rember it, some one put a steering part in backwards and Sammy never was able to drive it hard. After a short while Harold Annett pulled the plug on the operation. Tony explained why he picked Danica sunday.

All 3 drivers had a pretty good track record running Sprint Cars, there is no way in HELL, that Steve Kinser and his sorry ass NASCAR record had anything to do with it. If anything, guys would look at what he accomplished in Sprints, and his abysmal record in NASCAR and make them say, "well if he can't do it, what makes me think that I can"

I remember stewart say that nascar is like wrestling,he is helping nascar bringing danica in will help those who like wrestling which is fake by the way,bring in a ring girl and tell hold your foot to the floor and turn left,like some drivers are saying a monkey could qualify for daytona especially in great equipment.
