Aren't you guys gonna get hammered come Jan. 1 with a tax increase? He's no friend of Canada or the oil pipeline so I was hoping for a different verdict. To all the tree huggers out there, be careful for what you ask for. If Vegas would take it, I would bet the farm on a Republican Victory come 2016, hope I'm still around to celebrate it with you.....

We'll be celebrating the election of Hillary Clinton as the first woman president in 2016, and as long as we're exporting oil as we are now, we don't need your damn pipeline....Celebrate that!

Im in a public employee union. It is a joke and a wasye of taxpayer money. Dont get me wrong, Everyone should thank the unions of yesteryear but they have far outlived their usefulness.

I am no longer in the union but I couldn't agree with you more! All the union I was a member of did was collect our dues so they could forward the money on to the democrats. They were never interested in dealing with any problems for union members but as soon as election time came around they would call for a member meeting to pass out campaign bullshit! They are a huge PAC.

BTW I am neither a Democrat nor Republican but please quit blaming W. he sucked but Obama(he sucks too) said that if he couldn't get things going in 4 years he didn't deserve to be reelected.............we're waiting. Are any politicians listening? Didn't think so.

In response to Mr. Mac, Obama won because he is a democrat and what he has done to straighten out what was screwed up by George W. Bush. How about pointing out the things Obama has done that are clear as day, saving the auto industry, killing bin laden, and starting to clean up the messs from George W. Did you happen to notice that the democratic party enlisted the help of former president Bill Clinton during the election, while the republican party never mentioned George W. Bush? Why is that? It does appear that they are disassociating themselves from the man they supported while he was in office. Let's also look at the fact that the republican party has shown they are against unions, the very group that has made working conditions fair for the American people. The democratic party is clearly for the working people while Romney and his entourage want to stuff their pockets by breaking up unions and sticking it to the middle and lower class folks. Finally, the republicans have also proven that they are not as supportive of public education as the democratic party. The dire straits that the education system is in right now is because of the republican run states in this country like Pennsylvania, Ohio, Wisconsin, etc...

Wait until the next time GM needs to raise money and no one wants to buy their bonds, because your president re-wrote existing bankruptcy laws to wipeout bond holders and give ownership to the union. That has never happened before in history, a president re-writing laws so he could pay favorites to his union cronies. Romney advocated a structured bankruptcy with backing from the government to ensure existing laws were followed and private business could take part in the restructuring...let's agree to disagree. I want the government out of my wallet and I own a business. If you've never been self-employed you have no clue!

Everyone seems to look down upon those who are on welfare and food stamps. My family had to go on food stamps when I was a kid not because my parents were lazy and wanted to live off of the government teet. My dad got laid off of his factory job almost at the end of every month and when I was born they let him and a lot of others go compeletly. My mom told me that he would go out each day and fill out applications going from one business to the other trying to get a job but no one was hiring in the area(this was around 1986). They had to move in with my great grandmother whom we lived with until she passed away a few years ago. My dad finally got lucky and got a job with the city here and was able to start saving money to move us into a better neighborhood. My mom was able to start working once I was old enough to go to school (because daycare is not cheap not even in those days) and we were able to move into a better neighborhood and we ended up having my great grandmother with us as a repayment to her for helping us out and not having to go through the embarrasment of standing in line with two kids as the grocery store clerk processes your food stamps. Luckily we were not on them that long. My parents were able to move us to the suburbs, save up to help me go to college which I worked my way through as well, and now I am fully employed.

Before people critize all the less fortunate people in the world, first walk a mile in their shoes. Trust me, know one wants to go through that. All we hear about are the small percentage of the people who take advantage of these programs which gives them a black eye. A lot of it is shere luck of the draw on where you are born. I was born in a lower economic class which was able to work their way into the middle class with a little help. People who have been born into a situation where they have never had to decide whether they will eat that night or their kids, should never look down upon someone who does.

Nick, no where did I criticize anyone on food stamps or other government programs buddy. My criticism is with government policy that keeps employers like me from hiring more because of all the regulations and costs that come hiring employees. Nothing gives more pride in providing someone a living because I took the chance to start a business. I sincerely hope that everything with your family turns out the way they desire and they continue to pursue their dreams.

If congressional Republicans would have had the American people as their number one priority and worked with Obama, instead of sabotaging his attempts to fix things (paraphrasing 2010 quote by Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell, " My number one priority, along with all other Republicans, is to make sure Obama doesn't get reelected,) maybe he could have got things going, better than he has, in four years.

Very doubtful and highly unlikely!

Actually Obama lost the assistance of the House all on his own. He had the upper hand when he walked in the door and spent so much money right out of the box that by 2010 the American people wanted to shut his spending down. Remember, he was talking about QE2 when people started to get upset. The election of 2010 was an effort to do exactly what the house has done since then, stop the presidents spending. That is what we elected them to do and that is what they have done. Elections have consequences sometimes. Not saying that it is right or wrong, it is just the truth, if we can remember that far back.

Actually, we export refined oil in the form of gasoline. We still import the oil, refine it, then export the excess gas. We still need their pipeline. Unless you plan on buying Chevy Volts for everyone.

This thread started out funny but turned into another aggravating repetitive argument. But I can't resist, one more time: I'm with lpjazz, Bigfish, Nick14 & Cubic dollar(??!!!??), but most of all with whoever said "Lesser of 2 evils". All you guys dissing unions are cutting your own throats. Republican plan? Get rid of unions, then they can pay us what Chinese workers get. Won't that be fun, LOTS of spare cash for racing....

Romney thinks he can reduce deficit by cutting taxes while spending MORE ON MILITARY THAN GENERALS ARE ASKING FOR???? Worked great for Dubya, huh?

All this welfare/ foodstamp debate is irrelevant. Obama didn't increase benefits, more people are poor due to economic collapse.

I'm not thrilled with Obama by any means, but Romney was another Bush, rich spoiled chickenhawk with no clue what life is like for the rest of us. Crappy choice both ways, IMHO. Between a whore who just lays there or one who has the courtesy to halfway fake it.

The people have spoken. I'm sick of arguing.

You can't see the problem if you don't open your eye's people. It's not about left and right. It's about right and wrong. Giving away the farm is wrong. Not helping the needy is wrong. Being thankful is right. Being charitable is right. Didn't you guys have parents? This is one of my favorite places because I am a sprint car fan and have been for 45 years but most on here sound like spoiled brats. Think about it. If you love America you should want a win/win NOT a we win they loose.

Can we just talk about racin now and get over it?

A big problem is the duopoly of the two party system that has brainwashed all of America by the establishment and the media. It's a damn shame when my kids come home from school and don't realize there is more choices than just a Democrat or a Republican. The children need to know their are other options out there and we need to be the ones to inform them if we are to ever get away from this craziness. Willard and Barack are gonna tax us and spend no matter who would've won, the two parties do not allow the independent thinkers help determine their candidates in alot of states because we might actually get a candidate like a Ron Paul, Gary Johnson or one with common sense that knows religion has no place in government and government has no place in your home, bedroom or anywhere else in your private lives. If you wanna smoke some pot, go smoke it for christs sake just don't do something stupid and endanger others lives by driving high (think of the revenue and new jobs when there is a pot shop in every state). It's time for all of America to wake up and see if one of the true smaller government, less big brother candidates could actually do what they claim they could and give one a chance or if they simply would just become another cog in the wheel.

Dead on! Election reform is needed badly. I just see no scenario in which it will ever happen again. That is too bad.

He won Ohio and Florida and California ... Must be a true Outlaw? I know two people that voted for him? The country needs help, 16 trillion in debt, high unemployment and 50 million on food stamps and he gets re-elected?

And he wins Iowa-----Can't get the gay marriage and enough handouts on board in Iowa.

Yo' Bigfish, you get more Oil from us than any other country on the planet. Maybe one day you'll get smart enough to start producing your own, doubt the tree huggers will let you tho', sorry.....

Without the black vote next time there will NOT be any Democrat living at 1600 Pennsylvania either, it will be a fair fight and things will likely be so bad by then the Pubs should win easily...

That would explain your lack of understanding on the value of a union! It also explains why you back a republican...you want to be "the man" and take care of "the man" and the democrats and unions want to be treated fairly when they work for "the man"!

Unions are nothing but mafia in the open. Unions are why labor jobs went overseas. Unions are why the auto industry went broke. Unions demand unbelievably high pay for unskilled labor workers as long as they pay their dues.

I tell it like I see it.
