Once you puke on someone...or puke at all in the stands the people in charge should be escoirting your sorry @ss to the nearest water hose.

Paying customers should not have to POLICE DRUNKS at these ticket prices.

If you can't handle the job, don't put on the uniform and act as tho you can.

This was at a Phillies game, but a somewhat similar situation. I think that the officers should have been pushed by one of the family members that was hurled on that if they wouldn't kick the guys out that they wanted to file a report and press charges, I'm guessing to avoid paperwork the officers would have more quickly kicked the guys out.

Let me get this strait. You are in a bar (which is not a family place) and get unruly you are removed by a bouncer or a Police officer and probabley BANNED from returning. Why in HELL Knoxville lets them stay and keeps serving them is disgraceful. What we should do is bypass Knoxville and dial 911 and gets some Police Officers in there

You'd have to call the Marion County Sheriff's Department for anything to happen. This is Marion County property although it is located within City Limits.

Nothing is going to change until someone sues Marion County and the fairboard for being injured by lack of enforcement.

Frankly, Knoxville is so desperate for any kind of business that the town and county won't do anything until they are held financially liable. If some drunk puked on me or my family on Saturday night, I'd have my attorney retained on Monday morning. I hold the fairboard and county cops responsible for the safety of me and the general public when I am on the fairground's domain.

It's pathetic, really. Everybody thinks the people of Knoxville and decent racefans are idiots because behavior like this goes on.

Good people are staying away in droves now. Leaves more room for the drunks and morons, I guess.

When did this happen? It sounds from the Youtube clip like it happened when they were interviewing Dollansky after the race?

Anyway, completely ridiculous they didn't get thrown out immediately after they puked unless it happened after the race was completed.

Ok, this is the best I could do with my video editing skills. But here in the first picture is the drunk rowdy guy threatening to kick the dads' ass of the family that got puked on, the vomiter is sitting in the white shirt, girl looking at me is the daughter, and to her right is the mom. Next one is a video frame picture of the dad with his hand on his head, either wiping it off or nervous or disgusted...Either way, they left immediately at the checkers and left their seat cushions. Hope someone can use this to make this situation right. One more note, these guys never left their seats once the cars took the track, I'm sure they were drinking heavily before..What escalated these clowns in was the bottle of Rumpleminz that they brought in and kept passing between them throughout the night.

Very sad that security or someone with Marion County came and checked this out and then basically walked away and let it go... sounds like some drunks ruined a night for a family.

i agree with the family section. even aa had a couple. i cant believe someone got puked on. they should have go their $ back and a huge "we are sorry".

put all the alcohol and tobacco "of any kind" in their own section. it works well at a lot of other tracks, should work there. put em in a place where they can puke and chit all over one another, they would be happy there. don't get me wrong, i enjoy partying and a drink every now and then but good gawd, be respectfull of others around you. if someone ever puked on me, well, that is another emergency room story!

Im sure these guys were drinking heavily before the races, but what really escalated their drunkeness was the bottle of Rumpleminz that they brought in and kept drinking off of throughout the night.

This is really too bad. Feel bad for the dad there with his family and then it sounds like the asshole in the black shirt wanted to fight when the dad got upset. Even if your drunk how are you not embarrassed to be associated with someone who does something like that and say sorry and get the guy the hell out of there. Its a hard deal, cause who wants to be the one to stand up to the guy and if you get in a fight you'll also probably at least get thrown out if not thrown in jail.

Just remember that for every guy or group of guys like this there's hundreds of fans that are drinking and not causing a scene or bothering everyone, some people are just assholes PERIOD.

The 2nd time the family got puked on was around the last restart...the guy in the clip standing tall above the drunk after the checkers was letting him know that everyone around him was ready to jump on his back...the family had already left at this point.

I have no problem with people around me drinking as long as they can handle what they drink and not get obnoxious. Past that point, the track needs to get law enforcement involved and eject the offenders from the track. Drinking to the extent to throwing up on people shouldn't happen to anyone more than about once in their lifetime (probably at their first drinking party). Any more than that is just demonstrating a lack of intelligence. Family section(s) would be a good idea that would allow folk to totally (more or less) escape the behavior that can result. While we're at it, they need to improve the smoking area under the backstretch somehow. I'm a smoker, and the smoke coming up to row 22 from down below was strong even for me. Not sure what can really be done other than possibly extend the smoking area outside of the seating area.

I believe calling 911, the dispatcher would send the correct law enforcement officers for where you are, in this case it would be someone from the county. In fact they would be able to contact an officer that is already at the track and send them to the section. Calling 911 after being puked on probably actually is the best idea as by calling 911 there is then a trail of how the situation was handled and the officer would likely have to file a report as opposed to just finding an officer and telling them what happened, they would likely just do as little as they had to and not file any report. I believe texting 911 is becoming possible as well and would have been a good thing for them to do in this case as well, text them that you were puked on and are now being threatened and your section and row.

With how these guys were acting there's no way they couldn't have at least arrested them for public intoxication.

The family that got puked on was there all week and said to me they had never seen the drunk group before Saturday night.

many years ago, we requested a family section.. We didnt care if it was section AA or section ZZ.. just somewhere where we could enjoy the races without this kind of distraction... So far it has fallen on deaf ears..

Everyone behind them looks so happy...

We also have talked with Rick (fair board member) for several different years about a family section somewhere at Knoxville. This was before the smoking ban though.

We were told that it would be problematic with the people that have had their seats in the section for a number of years. They would be really really upset about having to give it up. I told him that they didnt have to give them up, they just had to abide by the rules in place.

Everyone always told us that we could move. Move to where? Some seat that the problems would be worse?

I have nothing against drinking. I drink a few cocktails myself, but not to excess like in this case..

The family section at Jackson Speedway was put in place by my 9 year old daughter in 1995. It has stood the test of time. It works out great. We have elderly people there, we have families there, we have several groups of teenagers that sit there on occasion..

The beauty of having a dedicated section, is that it is self regulating.. We dont need any extra enforcement, unless someone refuses to vacate after being told about the rules. We have had people come up with a beer, and been informed that they cannot drink in this section.. some move, some drink their 1 beer, and remain for the rest of the night.

Just like anything, a few bad apples will ruin it for the rest.. and it appears that these apples were rotten..

Being a dad with two daughters and seeing the look on the young girls face makes me furious. I have no problem with someone having a drink, I don't drink myself but that's another story. Who hasn't had to deal with dumbass morons like these guys at a racetrack. The Cincinnati Reds make an announcement before the start of every game that instructs fans to send a text to a certain number if you have unruly fans around you. I sincerely hope Knoxville monitors this board and sees this post, and deals with it in some manner. I would rather have less people in the stands than having a few hundred more which would be adding these idiots. I admire the father for keeping his cool, but looking at the guy in the black, I would love to kick the living shit out of him, and I'm sure the line behind me would be long to join in.

It is a sad state of affairs when you have to think about calling 911 or "texting for help" at a sprint car race as folks have mentioned here. Maybe sponsors will step up and help do something about the situation.

They should have been thrown out, definitely. People who can't hold their liquor shouldn't drink, and why pay for a ticket to get drunk & stupid. Do it at home, if you have to.

Too bad they didn't get their butts kicked, but the victim's Dad was probably a gentleman, wanted to watch races, not fight.

Tommy, you might be thinking about the Cincinnati Bengals who have what they call the 'Jerk Line' that you can call to report drunk assholes like these inbreds.
