Thank you for your post -- We appreciate your thoughts. We are currently putting our efforts into replacing all the parts that were destroyed at the last race ( rear end, shocks, birdcages, arms, bars etc. ) - so we can support the next Perris race and the show at Calistoga - Turn 4 -Rob- When teams invest their $$ into “hard parts” like rigs, many of them look at the long term. Moose Racing has campaigned a sprint car for close to 20 years and also looks to the future. Traveling and towing the amount of weight that is loaded into sprint car trailers is a huge factor. SO when you sit down and do the numbers on pick up truck versus a motorhome that is designed for towing - and is designed to last for over a million miles, for under a couple hundred dollars more a month, it only makes sense. ( which, by the way is in no way close to the $$ you suggest - ) That couple hundred $$ difference in the payments, is made up quickly: as several crew members travel together, sleeping arrangements included ( eliminating hotel $$ ), food is prepared in the rig,( eliminating restaurant stops and $ 6.00 track burgers ) and the fact that milage is usually better in them also.

Moose that was not a shot at you guys,I just get tired of listening to people bitch and moan about the cost of racing and then show up at the track with $50,000 900HP engines that need rebuilt every 3or5 races (how much power do you really need ?)If your doing a lot of travaling yes the big rigs would be needed, but crap most of the teams won't even travel 100 mles to race

Its like major league sports, the owner gripe about the high salaries, but who's paying them.if you want to make it more affordable its the owners be it racing or big league sports that controll the coast not the promoters ,track owners,or clubs.

Rob, I bought a 1999 Peterbilt in perfect shape for way less then a new Toyota Corolla costs. Some of these rigs are not as expensive as some may think. Laurie, is right on the money in the overall scheme of the the rigs. Some don't need it but in the long run, if you're in it for the longevity you end up money ahead as long as you buy right. Joe

You guy's keep at it, I'm watching the qualifying at Knoxville LIVE http://knoxville.turn2media.com/, and it's coming in great... Spencer is out and just ran a 19.117. 5:58 AZ time. Track looks good, and 31 cars.. Jerry Coons just ran a 18.993...Balou 19.226 6:05...Damion 19.270 6:10...Levi Blew a tire! 18.639 fast time for Bacon. 6:20 trials over.

Can you believe they are running winged 305's with?

At Perris the week before 26 cars with an added purse over $5000.00, Belville National Migets $12,500 to win 24 cars, low car counts are going to be the norm we need to get used to it.

28 cars at Perris, not 26. Full field
