I wonder how much history the 99 has after Dale Looper drove it? Where did it race? Did it just set behind a shop? Did it take on a life as a Jr. Modified in OKC, Tulsa, or Wichita?

Wow, thanks for the info! I guess my eyes aren't so bad after all. Would enjoy seeing those pictures that Herb sent you! The one Herb drove in 1970 looked very similar...was it a 'twin' of your car?

I think the other car from 1970 is the car Mike Bassett bought from Herb and drove the car either in 1973 or 1974 it was black and carried the #111. The car is still around and is going to be restored. Herb and I talked to the new owner at the racers' night at Holley's a couple weeks ago.

This is my Sedan it was built by Kenny McCoy in Hutchinson, Ks.in 1966. I found the car in Hutchinson, Ks in 2002 less than a mile from where it was built. It raced around central Ks. with drivers like Todd White, Charley Pitts, Henry Ellington. It has VW torsion bars in the rear.

Is that the car that Henry Ellington won the Hutch Nationals in?

I'm thinking Gene McClellan from Hutchinson or a guy by the Curly from Hutch was probably driving that this car in 66. Henry was in the #76 owned by the Angel's.

This black car is owned by Don McChesney he found the car up in Iowa. That is Don in the black cap talking to Ken Tatro from Beloit, Ks. Check out the two haulers of John Prather of Eldorado, Ks. 57 Chevy ( Black Widow) clone & a 59 Chevy El Camino. The yellow Midget is owned by John Prather it has a V8 60 HP Flathead Motor.

Does anyone know the history behind this beauty?
|
It is a Trostle. I don't remember what year. It seems to me that the story was that the car was
found in a railcar as is and is unrestored.
