How about Zach Zimmerly from the West Coast. I saw him race at Huset's a few times last year and thought he did pretty well for a 16 year old.

Let's not forget how good Travis Rutz was, that kid could wheel a car better than most. It's a shame Gravel stopped on the middle of the front stretch and ended Trav's career.

I`ve held back my feelings about this for a year and a half...... Seems though most feel David is going to be a great driver , and that may be the case, but he had a lap and a half of rolling around with a blown motor to get that car out of the racing groove but chose to let it die in the middle of the track and Trav paid a dear price! You all go ape if Sammy or Sides does something dumb, but you say this is not in good taste? Just the truth!!!

My picks:

Kyle Larson

Zack Zimmerly

Brady Bacon

He was leading the race with less than 8 laps to go and last all star race of the year. Which driver would give up. The accident could have been avoided but it didnt. its life. the whole track was blocked when travis came to the wreck. Glad u held back your feelings.

Austin McCarl, Darrah, K Swindell

Austin McCarl really? what is that based on because it surely is not performance. he doesn't even come close to the other drivers mentioned...

Virtually every single person even remotely connected to racing in the Northwest sit and wait for Travis to make even the smallest of gains in trying to resume a glimpse of normalcy in he and his families life. All of us on the outside looking in aside, I think it's fair to say that Travis and his family accept that the unthinkable could and did happen at Terre Haute that day. As strong as Travis and his circle of friends are, the strength exuded by his father who has been at his side through all of this is humbling to say the least - and thats coming from a father of a kid that wants to race.

I would have hoped that at least some of that humbleness could have carried over to David and/or whomever does the defending of what was clearly a stupid mistake on his part. I've known David since he was an 8 year old kid with a great smile and a destiny that included being a success in racing. But every time I read the callousness of the posts from his camp defending what happened as simply being a part of racing and life, I am saddened even more.

It's that callousness that might make David a good racer. It's that same callousness that would take him off my list of top 3 young drivers. Sorry David. I know you're better than that.

We know what you saying, so now we know what you are.

The guy who speaks the the truth is who you are I've watched the video many times and it was a really bad choice to park in the middle of the straight away when it was blown up a few laps earlier ,what was the thought process there ,it'll fix itself and ill still win ,,stupid choice and to bad it happened , your entitled to post your opinion if others don't want to hear it to bad ,,,its what happened and it was a really dumb move

I wouldn't!

Me neither. Darrah doesnt impress me much. Wolfe has been established as one of the best drivers in the country for about 3 years now.

Proudly supports:

Kyle larson has won in everything he's drove so far hard not consider him bout the top pick and he's a great guy (kid) for the sport always upbeat and personable to all he talks to ,,considering who Darrahs racing against and where he stared (and won) he's gotta be in my top picks to ,,good luck to all the young guys though ,there the future of our sport

Agreed I really want to see Larson at Nationals to see what he's capable of off the porch. Because everything he's done in California, Darrah has done more in the more-competetive PA circuit. But now Darrah is hit and miss on the road, still a bright-talent but it's a fact that he needs more seat time on this tough bullrings.

I'd have to say Trey Starks, last year his rookie year, running about 50 races he accumulated 4 rookie of the year titles (Skagit speedway 410, Grays Harbor Raceway 360, ASCS NW and National Sprint Car Hall of fame 360 Rookie of the year. Also in his Rookie year became youngest driver to make a W.O.O. A Feature. This year his plans are to run about 80 races around the country now 15 and doing pretty good thus far http://www.treystarks.com

From the left cost I'll Give Darrah some benefit of the doubt coming off a nasty injury but i'd have to say Kyle Larson. Darrah and Brad Sweet is a damn good driver lets not forget.

Why do you even bother making a post about Kyle Larson when its obvious you don't know anything about the racing scene he has come up in or his real abilities? If your using online racing video games as a basis for any real life skill analysis, you sir are in need of a video game intervention. I've got news for ya, video games are not anything like real life, get outside and breathe some methanol already! Kyle Larson is a highly respected racer amongst veteran racers. You can put on your warped goggles and try to degrade his accomplishments against the Outlaws but anyone with functioning eyeballs can see he was BLOWING past top name talent at last years Gold Cup, Mini Gold Cup, ASCS National races in Cali, Outlaws at Tulare, Outlaws at Merced, Outlaws at Calistoga etc etc. Some of you people need to get out here to California and watch the youth talent we have racing. The depth of our fields is getting really, really good. Back to Larson I predict he goes further in auto racing than ALL the other mentioned names, wanna wager on it?
Cheers!

Are you for real ,,you raced him on a game and you saw a video ,,do actually go to the races he passed Haud ,Mcmahan, Wolfe ,the king and Saldana at Stoga ,Kyle is for real he's raced against too competition for a cpl yrs now and wins turn of the computer and go to a race dude its just a little different than play station ,I guess I should of just copied the last post ,,but you gotta go out in the real world and get off you tube before you make statements about anyone's ability in a racecar ,,

I'd have to give Cole Duncan some credit from ohio. Hes in a budget car but still runs pretty good with any sanction

Nope not one bad race...I'll include the one in Australia and Cali when he hit everything but the lottery! I'm sure he'll get good, but right now he's only a flat out 1/2 miler!

Kyle Larson on the other hand seems to be like the type of kid that you can put in any type of car and win races! He gets my #1 vote!
