In order for the UMSS and the IMCA to co sanction a race the Claim would have top "GO AWAY" for that event first of all. Second the gear rule would have to allow at least 4 ten point steps as choices from an established ratio that worked. The 3rd is the tires. UMSS allows and RR SC 25 that duramators 50, the IMCA RR is 70. I do not know how to get around this so neither one would have to buy tires. I would ask all you out there in cyber land to help us overcome these three things then we could make all you happy. The IMCA is a very good Sanctioning Organisation and they did want us to combine. I for one and most of the UMSS regulars would not put their heads at risk for a claim. It is not worth the gamble to put a good set of Aluminium head at risk or have to refuse and lose the money you won , what is the point of racing then? Run for nothing? The best interest of Sprint Car Racing can in my opinion if the IMCA keeps doing their thing and We , the UMSS will continue to grow and do ours. The ASCS will keep doing theirs also. In a perfect world there would be 410's and 360's all under the same rules. As soon as someone figures out "HOW" to do this please tell me because it would make all of our lives easier. But until the promoters all agree to pay the same and the engine builders agree to build all the same and the owners agree to buy all the same this is not going to happen. At least not in my life time. We would welcome any and all ideas you might have on this or any other positive improvement . Contact Ron, Chuck or myself anytime.

It can't be too big of a deal for UMSS to run with IMCA. I know Mike Sargent and Jen Eriksen have run both series. I'm sure Mike would be willing to help answer any questions about running with both series.

Lawn Enforcer,

You should have stated that IMCA was no big deal to run with UMSS Series. Mike Sargent and Jenny Erikson had to buy a set of tires, small fee to run with UMSS (if they chose to run only that show) and that's it. Where are all these fees for running with the IMCA for 2 shows going? The paydown is terrible at a show that charges $10 higher just for the pit pass, not to mention the entry fees that are involved. The entire payout schedule for IMCA does not justify the additional costs. We ourselves already have the tires, but can still not justify these extra fees, not to mention the "grudge claim" for cylinder heads. Just our opinion.

I can uderstand where you are coming from Dave. But I looked at both schedules and there are a total of 4 Jackpot Junction Series races left this year, along with many dates at Arlington and Redwood (and I understand Redwood isn't an option for a lot of people) that don't interfere with the UMSS schedule. So really you can make that investment and it could open a lot more dates for sprint car racing. That is 15+ more sprint car racing opportunities for the rest of the year. Lynn Franklin raced with IMCA at Arlington and Redwood this weekend. I understand that it may not be financially possible to run that many shows, but I'm just trying to point out how many shows are available between the 2 series, which is around 20 for the rest of the year.

Well the bottom line is IMCA has the show. Ya wanna run ya gotta play by there rules. If your so worried about money find a different hobby. What ever happened to racing just for fun?

Absolutely, racing is supposed to be fun. However, if you don't watch your $$ closely, it doesn't make any difference how fun it is cuz' you'll be sitting at home wondering how you're going to pay off your credit card. It all adds up at the end of the year. There are a lot of "flashes in the pan" in this sport, mainly because their egos are bigger than their checkbooks.

I've seen the 34TW at Arlington so they should be ready to go if they want. The extra pit fee? Don't you think that Elko has set the pit fee? This has become more nit-picking about a show that should be a lot of fun to run at, and to watch. Isn't that why we race...for the fun? It's never been about money.
