I agree Kenny, I have hung around it along time but I am stupified when it comes to the mechanical aspects of it. But all the other aspects I am content.

Don't worry guys I'm stupid when it comes to the mechanical aspect as well. I just bs my way through most of it as to give people the notion that I do know what I'm talking about!

Thanks Lonnie, I forgot to mention about it not being ASCS sanctioned.
I didn't say Chuck Swenson showed up with the illegal heads at the STN! I just said they were on another car. Obviously it didn't help because he didn't finish in the top 5 which were tore down.
|
I find it kind of wierd Kelly, that you would know so much about these heads. Such as where they are, who has them now and so on. Did they come out of your shop perhaps? If they did, what says there aren't more of them out there. If they didn't, then how would you know so much about them? Or maybe you guys got them someway after the guy got DQ'ed, and have now put them on another motor?

My guess is that, as a motor builder, he's in the know. When ASCS heads are found illegal the #'s off the heads are usually cataloged. So if someone was in the know, such as Kelly, they would know the #'s on the head. Then if the heads showed up somewhere they would know they were illegal. Or someone could have just told him that that certain person had bought the heads and they were on the motor that certain night.

LOL. So nice of you to be looking out for the well being of the message board Mr. Porter. What a good samaritan you are. That was about the 3rd time this thread was close to "the threshold of hell"
I got it halfway there with my comments about Swenson. Mr. Jones took some exception to it. lol. Someday I'm gonna have to meet Mr. Jones.....not just see him from a distance swingin his weight around by the scales. hehe thats kinda funny after I looked over it again. aw I kid you David Jones.
Anyhow.......about the now infamous illegal heads. I'm sure Kelly was far from the only one WHO KNEW THEY WERE AT LITTLE ROCK. I'm sure many people knew about those heads at many different places. Here's a dose of common sense...........if Mr. Westphal builds illegal heads my guess is ASCS wouldn't be having a highly publicized race for a set of them.

I have no issues at all with those guys. They do great work and their record speaks for itself. Was just pondering a few points.

Sorry guys, we have been hooked up and I haven't had a chance to check in with my pals from the wrong side of the state......................LOL!!!!!
No tex we didn't get the heads and put them on another engine. Fortunately we don't have to resort to cheating in order to win the past 3 ASCS National Championships, the past 3 Knoxville 360 Natl's, the past three Short Track Nationals at Little Rock, oh and this past years Brodix Tournament of Champions race at Knoxville in which the above mentioned illegal heads were found on another competitors car in an attempt to beat our WESMAR ASCS "legal" headed engines!
Just clearing the air and trying to protect our reputation, thank you.

point well stated.
Tim Montgomery in the 01 car ran a wesmar motor?
Are you the only wesmar dealer or are there others in the area as well?

So Kelly, even though you cleared the air, this thread was alot more fun when you built the cheaters.
