The Thunder Through the Plains isn't what it use to be nor will it ever. You had the best of NCRA back then (yes, they had great car counts and drivers in the 90's for this tour) and the racing was awesome. I know because I made every single one of them except for two from 1995-2000 and covered those races for both series.

Belleville for this race was just fast, not much passing but awesome - no lift speeds. If that is the sort of thing that tickles your fancy that is. The best racing was at Eagle and OKC when they were there. Heck, even the one time stint at the Nebraska State Fairgrounds was a good show. Mayetta even produces quality shows, not the best but they would always schedule the deal.

But the NCRA 410's met their death, Bert and Bridget sold the series and the "Thunder" tour hasn't been the same since. That is my opinion and I am intitled too it.

4 days to go race fans!! 10 days of racing ecstasy! If the racing is as good as it was last night we are in for a treat! The track was very racey expecially for the 360s

David Jones - I aint sure bout the 10 hours deal either - but we would always stay up the night before and sleep the way up there - lettin my ol man do all the driving - i just knew i woke up 10 hours later in pella. yeah he goes speed limit the whole way and makes frequent stops. i bet we can do it in 9.

Jtc. o yeah we're hardcore Sooner Fans. i would have been exiled in my family if I was an OSU fan - my cousin is a texas fan and when she speaks we all just kind of walk away (j/k) lol.

I do hope for the sake of the paying fan that th all-star shows are good. i wont be so petty as to hope they are all disasters. i do hope some of the area fans make their way to the best race of the weekend (knoxville). 119 sprints checked in so far - and if Larry Neighbors is going - make that 120. I hope Trey Robb still races after trashing the car last night up there. in reality it appears that in the preliminary - the all-star bit couldnt have cost the 360 nat's any more than about 5-10 sprints. but with a full field near 120. even CCC doesn't give a rats A$$. forecast looks damn good too. a lil morw wind would be nice - but 85 will be few steps int he right directio from the 109 we had here in Oklahoma today.

funny how in the winter when it gets a bit nippy in BRR's back yard - we get posts about global warming being a farce - but when it goes off like it has here in oklahoma - silence! lol. seriously we been over 100 with heat indexes near 110 for over a week. the kicker is that it is not forecasted to change one bit in the next month. and no rain either. so if the temp in your backyard is the be all end all sign ------ then global warming is alive and well in Oklahoma. this heat wave will be near historic. but screw all that. Knoxville 360 Nationals are gonna ROCK!

It's nice to see Knoxville is having a support division for the 410's this week. 360's are OK but not as a headliner.

why not a headliner? this saturday's show i the best show knoxville has ALL YEAR!

but granted - some just cant get past the ancient logic that 410's are superior to 360's. granted i could see where the WoO have more talent than an ASCS region. but many times how much do you pay to see 22 outlaws (outside of PA, OH, Knox, and CA)??????? and even then its half the time a poor show - with tons of down time for hotdog breaks. 360's just put on better racing. IMO. PA, OH, Knox, and maybe somewhere else here or there - are the only places where 410's can outperform the 360's. well - actually its the only places 410's really exist on a weekly basis.

the johnsons should be favored, but, there are honestly about 20-30 cars that could win this...you can't say this about the 410 nats

yeah I think Wayne Johnson is the HUGE favorite. he dominated up there in the 94 every time except when ascs national tour was there - and even then he had it in the bag and had a mechanical woe. jason johnson is riding the hot streak for sure right now.

I think we;ll see some suprises this year for sure. Kenny Adams or son in law Bryn Gohn i bet one of em makes a run. someone from the northeast will announce their presence too. the patriots run a couple of monster half miles - so one of them might do well in qualifying settin themselves up for a good weekend. i think if not wayne or jason johnson - the odda are with a local. like Higday or Gianetto ETC. Higday always put on a show at this race. whatever happened to Dennis Moore Jr? one it a few years back and i dont see his name hardly at all anymore..............

i think its a tossup for this weekend. but DAMN its gonna be fun to watch.
