It's absolutely "fine" for anyone to use the word.  I can walk down the street right now and shout it at the top of my lungs and no one is going to throw me in jail or issue me a ticket------nor will they ever if our constitution holds true forever. 

My opinion of the word is that it's not "fine" to use the word ever-----but that is just my feelings.  And since there are a good percentage of people who are not fine with it, and a good percentage of people that are sensitive about it, companies like Walmart (who stopped selling Confederate flags) who do business with the entire population, have a PR dept. that gives them direction on situations just like this.

Chevy and Credit One bank were in the same spotlight and their PR dept. made the correct move.  

Once again, none of this comes back to who is "allowed" to say it and who isn't.  Rappers and comedians can make a very, very good living catering to 10% of the population while pissing off 90% of it.  They don't need to appeal to the general public, but more importantly, they can piss off almost all of the population and still make a damned good living doing it.  After all, free speech is in tact and they can do their performances all they want.  

None of what rappers and comedians say should be compared to what a Nascar driver can say.  It's not a double standard---it's the manner in which they make their livings.  If John Menard wanted to start a Nascar team and have Paul drive the car, he could say whatever he wanted in the public spotlight----after all, it's his business he is damaging, not someone elses.  And if he did, Nascar would issue a penalty, the penalty would be served, and the car would be right back on the track with "Menards" on the door.  Larson does not have this option

It's only been a week and it already feels like this has blown over a bit. 

There is no such thing as bad publicity. He will be great for the World of Outlaws. If he never races NASCAR again who cares. He will have just beat Stewart and Kahne to the punchline. They probably should have came back to sprint cars full time sooner.

Kyle is only 27 years old with a wife and child. Kyle may have stepped on it, but he sure as hell wants more of the big money. That's why he was there. One thing though, Chip signed a contract with him that allowed him to race open-wheeled stuff. He has said he wouldn't have signed without it. Will he still have enough leverage to keep that in his new contact?

What new contract?????

 The ones he's going to be negotiating with a Nascar team owner to still be able to run open-wheel stuff. At that point, it will be a new contract. The only way he won't be back, in my opinion, is that all he's offered is a shitbox, or that he can't run open-wheel too. One question mark would have sufficed, or were you looking for four answers?
