The main problem, you have 40 kit cars on the track.  All the same dimension, all the same shape.  NASCAR should return to "stock bodies".

I actually think Deegan can be successful and she seems to be taking a pretty good approach. Will be more successful than Danica but that's setting the bar low lol. I like that she seems to have a genuine interest in being a racer & not a marketing machine. I think Nascar is just unfortunately going to make people hate her because of their hype machine like the did with Danica. For that matter, Johnson & other drivers because of their machine & telling fans how great they are & how we should like them.

Just be like Ken Squire, Bob Jenkins, and Eli Gold and call the action. Fans can decide who they like & don't like

I've been following Hailie for some time and I agree, she's going to do just fine. Did you see her on Dale Jr's show? She was great after she warmed up, a real hoot, and like her old man, she's tough too. Did you know she stopped at Ventura Raceway to drive a Cory Krusman Sprint car right before here first NASCAR race? Both are on Utube.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LgludGkCDTc&t=167s

Half the lies they tell about me aren't true.

There is as spot for a female driver to fill the void of Danica.Hallie or Natalie might be the one with more experience. The etnic spots were filled by Wallace and Suaez.I was at a race in Newton Iowa and Danicas apparel line was longer than all the others combined. I saw a clip of Huppy talking about getting Janet Guthrie to run the CocaCola 600 and how many fans she brought.

Lot different today. But to me the worlds greatest drivers title would go to the ones that can drive anything. There arent many that are in the class of A.J. Mario,Tony to name a  few. The money has changed the game and true talent isnt always the agenda. There are many good drivers that are specialized in one form of racing.Of course we all love the ones that make it to the big money and are glad to show their talent and love of where they started and many are giving back by having teams or sponsoring help in the other venues. Some of the ,and USAC drivers have gotten a shot at pavement and were able to make it.

I always kind of thought the same thing, the most talented drivers are the ones who can drive anything.  But I don't know if the same could be said today?  I think most profesional drivers could drive just about any kind of race car out there pretty fast within a short amount of time.  First off, most of the profesional drivers today have tons of experience driving different kinds of cars before they even turn 18.  The other thing is race cars today are easier to drive than they were certainly in Mario or Aj's day.  For example 50 years ago power steering wasn't as common.  Another thing is there's so much help with technology like simulators, I think in NASCAR anyone can pull the telemetry off any of the cars to see where they are letting off or how much throttle or brake they are using and steering input.  I haven't heard of this kind of technology being used in sprint cars but I have no doubt it's in Formula 1.  I might be dreaming this but I seem to remember someone, I'm thinking it was Carl Edwards?  Who had never raced on dirt until he got to Eldora for the late model race Tony Stewart used to have there for the NASCAR guys and almost won.  Does anyone else remember that?

Just to clarify, I think "most drivers could drive fast in a short time".  But I'm not saying they could jump in and immediately contend for a championship in another sport.  For example I don't think Kyle Busch could go win the championship in F1 in his first year.  Likewise if Kyle Larson decided to race in the WOO, as great as he's been running some races, I don't think by the end of the season he would be contending for the championship.  And we've seen how many great dirt drivers have struggled in NASCAR.  Because like you said the great drivers in any one form of racing are specialized in that form, whether it be simulator time or trying to find the next greatest thing setup wise or however else.  I've heard some drivers say they wouldn't do the 500 because they can't put the amount of time in to be competitive and that wouldn't be fair to the team.

Just to be clear this is just my opinion.  Also this isn't a knock on any of the current drivers, the technology's there so it should be used.  But it's certainly different than it was 50 years ago.

Carl Edwards came from dirt Modifiers so you're probably thinking of some other driver.  Carl would have felt right at home at Eldora.

I remember there were a couple of guys who had never raced dirt when they got to Eldora.  For some reason I was thinking the Busch brothers were all pavement and Kyle jumped right in and almost won.  ???   My memory might be bad too.

Another 500 won by that no driving Hamlin ****. Don't see what Gravel and the rest of those boys see in it besides the money. Give me Knoxville over Daytona every day of the week.

These are the worlds worst drivers!!!  Could never stand Hamlin before and dispise him even more now.  Everybody talks about Logano, Hamlin is by far worse!!!

I've had that pit in my stomach feeling since they came to the checkers. I could see right away that Newman's cage was hit in an awful spot, and bent all to hell.

(sigh) I hope everything is ok. Damn.
