Mahomes is gonna be the man I believe. With the awards he has already won in a couple of short years, he---to me----is one of the greatest in the game today. And, to tie it in to this thread, he hasn't won the big game yet. So if we go by dirtlover's theory, we can not call him any good unless he wins a Super Bowl. Dan Marino sucks I guess too.
As far as Joe Burrow? Can never tell anymore until they hit "The League"
|
I think Burrows will be a great NFL QB
Accurate thrower, cool under pressure, good runner too
Of course it all depends on what team gets him... a crappy offensive line can destroy any QB. But when Washington Redskins had "The Hogs" up front, any competent QB could look like a star

Hopefully my Bengals can grab him up with the #1. Too bad they have a crappy line, a crappy coach, a crappy owner, and a crappy defense. Oh well, like I told my buddy who's a Browns fan, it's time for the other Ohio team to ruin a QB'S career before it starts

I keep checking this thread hoping to learn something about David Gravel. Thot he was scooped up by Nascar not the NFL.
Even though I may not know you, I
care what most of you think!

Typical of these threads Rod, by the time you get to page 3 we're either not on the same topic or having heated arguments and calling each other names. LoL

Gravel was 10th out of 25 cars at Daytona's initial ARCA practice. Hailee Deegan was 8th.

I'll throw in a quick 2 cents on Gravel. He grew up in Connecticut with the goal of racing in NASCAR. Gravel didn't come to Sprints because he grew up near a Knoxville or William's Grove, he simply considered them to be his best chance to get noticed and climb the ladder to his ultimate goal. With that in mind I don't see him having the loyalty to Sprints like a driver who grew up around them. I'm sure that he enjoys driving them but I question if he progresses and is offered a Cup ride if he has enough passion for dirt to stand up to a car owner's restrictions on driving Sprints on his off weekends. I don't know him personally so this is just speculation on my part but David came to the Outlaws on a different path than the typical Winged Sprint Car driver and he's focused on moving over to Stock Car racing. Considering his background and ultimate goal would he continue to race and support Sprint Car racing?

is it possible that dirtlover is "The Chaz"

That mother went crazy a few years back proclaiming he was the reincarnation of Jesus Christ and he had returned to doom mankind. Pretty ironic that he was the track announcer for Devils Bowl.

I dont think he got into sprints with his ultimate goal being nascar. i think once he relized he was good , he knew there could be a shot at nascar. otherwise i think he just would have raced pavement late models to begin with

Silly rabbit! Everybody knows that Hoseheads folks don't like NASCAR. If a sprint racer goes NASCAR, he's off the radar....unless he switches to the NFL, if guess.

In the recent sprintcarunlimited article David was quoted as saying "As a little kid, NASCAR was my first love growing up in Connecticut" and "I always wanted to be a NASCAR Cup drive, and that's the ultimage goal".

You could have just said, "Oh. I guess I was wrong."
Nobody would've held it against you. It's ok.

I believe that interview or a similar one was where my faulty memory is digging that up from. He has stated as much and I trust what Gravel says more than anyone calling out my comments on a message board. David Gravel started doing a series of YouTube videos following him and his team. It's a good series that I saved as a favorite and watch every episode. The most recent one I watched was about getting fitted for the ARCA car and Chili Bowl Midget.

Wait......that annoying bastard was once an announcer? I never knew that. I'll never bitch about Port Royal ever again after learning that. I can't believe he was once employed by a racetrack to do anything. I wouldn't hire him to clean the shitters let alone be an actual announcer. That dude has big time mental issues. I would bet that if he found enough people who actually liked him, he'd make a great cult leader. He definitely puts one in mind of Jim Jones.

He was actually Devils Bowl's announcer for several years, but they distanced themselves from him once he started doing the crazy stuff.

Or, it could be David Gravel actually grew up aspiring to drive in Nascar. He has been saying for years he grew up a Jeff Gordon fan. If you look up David Gravel's DOB, you see he was not alive when Jeff Gordon drove sprint cars. Using one's detective skills, you could make a strong assumption that if David Gravel was a Jeff Gordon fan, he most likely was a fan of Jeff's when he drove a stock car. Hence, thus, therefore, he wouldn't be lying about being a big fan of Nascar. Unless of course his father kept around years of footage from Saturday Night Thunder and showed David nothing but videos of Jeff in a sprint car. I suppose that could have happened----in which case, I would owe you an apology.
Oh, and Johnny's not new to the scene.

everyone his age was a jeff gordon or dale fan growing up. if his main goal in life was to race nascar he would have started racing pavement a long time ago. nascar didnt enter is mind as a possibility until a couple years ago. We all know you gotta talk the talk if you want to be in nascar
ps. sorry if i hurt yours and johnnys feelings

My apologies. I did not realize you have been in the loop with David and having conversations with him this whole time. I thought you were just making assumptions.
In what year did he tell you Nascar didn't enter into his mind? (I'm assuming he told you since you know his inner thoughts)
My bad
Seriously though, I remember an interview with him YEARS ago talking about his ambition to get to stock cars. So, you're wrong.
