Paul McMahan is my darkhorse pick. That 13 team has been fast everywhere.

Brownie's best chance is this year.
A 57 win would be a great story.
Sheldon could do something.
My heart is with Dobmeier.
Watch the 21k make noise.

Whoever it might be, if Donny has no mechanical issues that take him out, the driver that beats him is going to have to have THE car that can do it. Even then, all things being equal, I think there are only a couple drivers that can drive with him in a head to head duel.....that being Larson and Sammy. There are however a few drivers that can "muscle" or "scrap" with him for the win.....Gravel, Sweet and Sheldon come to mind. There are realistically just two locals with a gamblers chance, that being Brown and Kerry Madsen. As I said in the beginning, having the absolute perfect set up for Saturday night can be the equilizer.........and if somebody close has the better car the last ten laps it won't be outdriving Donny as much as it will be just being able to go where he can't or isn't.

I agree with you on Donny, obviously, being the man to beat. I also agree on Larson, Gravel, Sweet and Haud (although Haud has cooled off a tad, sure hope he heats up again). But I'm curious, and I don't mean this as demeaning in any way shape or form even though I'm NOT a fan of Sammy although I certainly respect all his accomplishments and ingenuity plus that old black TMC 1 is still the most B E A utiful winged car to ever grace the dirt, what you have seen in Sammy LATELY to make you think he has got a chance. If he does, more power to him, and ya may even see me root for him if he's within striking distance with 5 to go. But I'm just not seeing it. Again, im not kicking dirt, just curious

He's been winning pretty consistently in ASCS 360s, & has won an Allstar race each of the last 2 seasons
Sometimes the old farts can have one more moment of glory... "I ain't as good as I once was, but i'm as good once as I ever was"...... remember, the question was "sleeper"!

No problem.......Sammy is a sleeper of a pick for sure. But he can still wheel a sprint car like very few can. He hasn't been in a top ride since the Big Game deal, and has knocked around mostly in the 360's in what could be described as decent rides. And he's done all right. The last couple nights he's been in the Thone car for the first time and has looked pretty impressive. Hell the car was fast when Henderson was in it, but they just evidently didn't gel or whatever. If he runs this car at the Nationals and he hits his setup he is very real threat. Sammy has kept himself in darn good shape, and he still has his wind and when he's in a car he likes, you can see it in his eyes. Tonight at Knoxville will tell a lot.

He just finished 6th out of 45 entries at Jackson, ahead of McMahan, TMac, Brian Brown & Rico
Definitely a sleeper, but I'd luv to see him do it....

1, you dont understand gambling if you think you'd go broke to somebody betting 100-1 drivers.
2, I agree everybody is a sleeper with 15 in the field and starting ANYWHERE in the A main
3, mysleeper, and I'm surprised nobody has said it yet, is Carson Macedo. Ummmm....hello. He is fast. He is going to have a fast car and team with winning the Nationals experience. AND he is going to be a story and must watch. I'm all about the story being written before it happens....and this would be amazing. Forever 41 getting parked again in 2018?

Well sir, you may be prophetic....I’ll acknowledge Sammy as a sleeper after his Knoxville run tonight. Madsen seems to be firing on all 8 cylinders as well.
