I'm not sure I buy that. Everytime I drive by the speedway, the chain is accross the gate at the highway.

If there was any validity to that idea, he'd close down all of his payday loan businesses then. Nobody closes a profitable businees because those meanies on Facebook said naughty things.

You can't go to the races at Husets on Sunday nights, so you turned into an internet troll? I think maybe you need to set your sights a little bit higher.
If you've been around racing for very long you know there is an ebb and flow to it's popularity- usually tied to the economy.
In recent memory Husets, Hartford, Rock Rapids, Worthington,Park Jefferson (and maybe Wagner?) have gone dark and come back. Of course Madison and the fairgrounds have gone dark never to come back. Give it some time and you'll probably see Husets and Hartford come back alive.

Huh? "your area"? If you're tresspassing to sit in the stands and meditate, aren't you from the area as well?
How about fishing? That's a good past time for a lot of people and it helps most people lower their blood pressure. An hour by the side of a lake or an hour in the empty stands would get you about the same results, except by the lake you might catch dinner.

Allrighty then. Might I suggest some night courses in writing instead? Maybe find somewhere that would give you a buy one get one free and take the Dale Carnegie course as well.

Ha Ha Ha I just figured out what's going on. It's the 2 different Shake N Bake trolls. The original poster is the S-N-B that joined 10-17-2015 to be a pro-Chuck Brennen troll. He has 82 posts as of today. The poster on page 3 with the dubious writing skills is the S-N-B that joined 6-9-2016 to be an anti-Chuck Brennen troll and has 102 posts.
And here I thought you had to go over to Facebook to dredge up this kind of carp.
S-N-B 10-17-15 and S-N-B 6-9-2016- do you guys (or girls?) know each other? Are you related? You seem to have the same last name, and first name and middle name.

Now that really is funny. I would have absolutely nothing good to say about Chuck Brennen.

Social Media had nothing to do with CB closing down the race track. He had stated way back in June of 2016 that if that initiative with the cap on pay day loan
interest rates passed in November, that he would shut down all of his SD businesses and leave the state. That's exactly what he did. It wasn't Social Media and it wasn't Jay Masur and Medstar...

The second sentence in this message is correct the last one is not. Masur was absolutely responsible for Brennan suspending the shortened season. Supposedly Masur asked for an incredible amount of money for the six race season and was rejected by Brennan, Masur then displayed childish behavior at Tailgators on the night of the Silver Shootout acting very unprofessional and very unbusinesslike and should have been fired. Masur has always been more about glitz and and glamor than substance Tony Stewart crash at Oskaloosa, a horse he had riden for a long, long time, getting photo ops with name drivers, Kyle Larson among others and endless social media post about how good he and medstar are and how bad some other tracks are. So when he was fired he took his big shot image and contacted 3 TV stations, 3 radio stations, the daily newspaper and every forum page he could find on the internet to protest his unfair firing. A lot of people already did not care for Brennan and when Masur told of his plight the followers jumped on the bandwagon of making an angel out of Masur and stoking the fires of hell for Brennan. Brennan did not want a shortened season anyway but when he was deluged with vile, terrible hatred messages from the social media he pulled the plug and suspended the remainder of an already shortened season. So, like it or not, social media and Masur did end the season at Badland.

If "Brennen did not want a shortened season anyway", why didn't he just hire a different safety crew and move on? He could have hired the safety crew from Hartford. They didn't have a gig this year or last.
A year ago, when anyone questioned the logic and finances of how this was all supposed to work-dropping all that money into the speedway- the answer always given was that Chuck had so much money that he didn't have to make a profit. He could just finance everything from his endless bag of dough. Apparantly that wasn't true.

Well Said Ford97!! Let's hope someone steps up and buys Husets for the good of the sport. We could have a great 3 night series here IF they could all just play nice in the same sand box... Mr. Brennan can suddenly disappear from the racing scene just like he appeared a few years ago would be for the best interest of all involved IMO.

Let's remember a few things before we blame Chuck for everything bad about racing in the upper Midwest including global warming (fake news).
Knoxville is paying more now because of Badlands. Look how many cars are now racing there that were Badlands cars last year (Terry and Austin, Lynton, Juhl, And most of the time TK). It appears to me Knoxville might have some problems cause otherwise they are looking at 15 or so Knoxville 410 cars.
Jackson is now paying tow money, last year Badlands paid tow money (thanks Doug because tow money helps racers a bunch).
The mess with Medstar was bad. Chuck said they were prepared to go forward with a new safety crew and he paid Jay for the other remaining shows for 2017 while not needing his services. That is taking the high road. It was unfortunate that people took to social media to bash Chuck and the facility and the talk of boycotting the track and sponsors was stupid beyond belief. We need to remember that any potential buyer of the track is looking at how this situation has been handled to everyone involved.
Chuck spent an amazing amount of money on the facility and it is hard to argue that it is not the best in the country. The racing there is fantastic. If your thinking of bashing the place why don't you ask the racers and owners if they miss Badlands, lots of racers never made that much money before and will not get even close to making that in the future. How many racers were talking about moving to the area to reap the benefits of what Chuck was willing to spend?
I don't think Chuck was all wrong about what he planned for the facility, did he go about some things wrong? Yes Did he put a lot on money into racers and owners pockets? Yes. If you don't believe me ask USAC how many races they have this year paying $50k?
The bitching is getting old and we need to remain hopeful the place is sold and we are enjoying racing there soon.
Thanks,
|
