I can see your perspective but wasn't trying to imply that, just that things seem to work out better when tracks are working together vs against.

But I know people in the SF area are excited and should be.

Maybe I missed this earlier but Gene Simmons has a stake in this?

Yes. And Paul Stanley.

Where did you hear that? The only mention I heard of a kISS investor was at the news conference, and it wasn't Gene Simmons.

Well.... that press release doesn't mention Gene Simmons at all.   And actually, it doesn't say that Paul Stanley is an investor in the speedway, only that he is an investor in the pawn shop.  So who knows?

Why can't rock stars invest in sprint car teams?  You gootta admit that a KISS sponsored sprinter would do big business at the souvenir trailer. Heck- I bet they made enough off royalties on KISS lunch boxes to fund a WoO team for a couple of years.

I'd buy one of those shirts!  Kerry Madsen in the "KISS" sprinter.  Good fit?

Why did you pick Gettysburg?  The CSA for Harrisburg, York, Gettysburg etc, which is the immediate area is 1.2M, which is really strong.  The Des Moines/West Des Moines is 782k.  The Des Moines CSA supports 25 410 shows(ISF1) whereas the Harrisburg MSA successfully supports approximately 95?  To me, Des Moine could easily handle an additional 12 shows per year, and fans wouldn't get burned out.  If anything, it would help increase the number of fans because there are people who would go Friday that might never go on a Saturday.

While there is less population, the reality is the Knoxville has had control of a 5 state area on Saturday nights for 410 sprints(not counting Missouri(SCFS) and Wisconsin(Wilmot...kind of).  Knoxville will survive and thrive is other tracks race 410's on the same night as they do.  Car counts will grow because more cars are going to be built with 410's.

Do fans get the benefit of watching every top racer from North Dakota to Missouri to Illinois to Nebraska all at one track.....no.  But that doesn't mean it isn't good for the growth of the sport.  The more people that are exposed to 410 sprint cars, the better.

Nothing sinister intended using Gettysburg. I just did. Not trying to argue or pick a fight here.

Using Harrisburg @ 150 mile radius = 27 Million people. Tighten it to 100 miles...15 Million.  Same 100 mile radius for Des Moines 1.5 Million or Sioux Falls 0.9 Million.

Using the the proximity of PA tracks as a proof point in comparison to Knoxville, Badlands and the further distance between them ignores one key and significant factor. Population. It's the same reason you can drive by a Wal-mart every couple of miles in a metro area and may drive 100 miles getting to one in western North Dakota.

It's one of the reasons you see teams and fans from multiple states at Knoxville. Same at Badlands or Jackson too. Adding another track doesn't magically add 30-35 new teams. I'm sure there's additional potential to add teams. But population and density is a factor

Again we're privileged to have 3 tracks running weekly programs in this region. They do overlap.  And one of the reasons it is better if they are working together.
