I would say Trump knows nothing about this.   Heard it was one of his local organizers who decided this.    At someone is getting something out of this windbag.

As a former flight deck cat crew deck edge operator during the Vietnam era the Donald lost me with his comments about John McCain.  I'm not really a McCain backer but I worked port cat deckedge and launched A7's like the one John was shot down over Nam in and have a bond with all the pilots I served with.  On the other side of the coin we have an eletist who looks like he's wearing a dead animal on top of his head and puckers his lips like he's about to give a ___ and pulled his eletist strings to get deferments.  Based on the shit Trump has spewed the past few weeks any veteran, woman or hard working Mexican American who backs him has to be out of their mind.  I don't care if he sponsors a million Sprint Cars, he's still a draft dodging asshole in my book.  Nevertheless, I did find it interesting to see a Presidential candidates name on a Sprint Car wing.

& just how many that has set in the Oval Office did the same thing.

In this day & age everybody says something that they regret later. Do they really ? Or is it just to save face ?

How has McCain supported his fellow veterans with his votes ? If they didn't go through what he did they are not worthy ?

By God it's time to get rid of the Status Quo. Anyone that has been in 10 yrs or more that IS NOT SERVING the PEOPLE has to go !! It's you're choice with you're vote.

I'd bet my last dollar if Trump would have been President that Lois Lerner's ass & a host of others would be in hot water.

Trump's campaign is doing this because of political strategy.  No, Its not that sprint car fans are some enormous untapped demographic like the "NASCAR dad" that candidates used to appeal to for votes (they still do, but not as much).  It's because the Iowa caucuses traditionally are the first primaries that determine who ultimately ends up getting the nomination.  Now, obviously, winning Iowa doesn't mean you win the race, but it does give you a nice boost out of the gate.

I would imagine it went a little something like this; Trump's campaign thinks of a way to win some popularity in the state, and goes "How do we win influence in Iowa?  Hmmmm what's popular in Iowa?  Well since we can't sponsor the Hawkeyes singlets, let's sponsor a sprint car at Knoxville for the Nationals.  Plus, people come in from all over the country and they'll see it as well.  That could give us a very tiny bump in other states too."  It's all about timing and grass roots.

What branch did you serve in and how do you justify your support of Trump as a veteran?

Music is for the love of playing, kind of like the racing writing and photography I have done.  Neither are about the money.  LOL, Trump could never say that about anything he has done.

Just knew you could not resist the bait. Did not say I support D T . He does say many things that I enjoy to hear.. I am not a vet. Tried to join the army and tested 4F. He has done well for himself. Some people dont like self employed RICH guys. Racing has many of them, thanks for that... They are called car owners...

Even if all that transpired is a check got passed to the car owner it is way more than any of the almost two dozen candidates from both parties for POTUS did.

I couldn't agree more! Trump was atypical rich kid back in the day for sure, daddy made sure he had plenty of deferments. I do think that McCain is constantly trying to start WW3, but like the old drunk at the Foreign Legion Post who spent a night on Porkchop Hill in the spring of 1953, he has EARNED the right to be an asshole. Trump just IS an asshole, born on third and thought he hit a triple.

The car carrying the Trump logo is the #11 of Roger Crockett. I got to know Crockett a bit when we lived up in WA State for a short time. A nice guy, very quiet and low key. I think he is a serious wheelman who could run with the Outlaws if some things broke his way. Extremely hard to beat at Grays Harbor and Cottage Grove. His dad is a raving loon, he has cost his son some good rides over the years.

I have to laugh at the "born on third and thought he hit a triple" line.  As the one line goes during the Donald Trump Roast on Comedy Central, "Tonight we honor a self-made millionaire. A man who started with nothing, worked hard, and made a fortune.... that man is Fred Trump, Donald's dad.  That's right, for all of his 'self starter' BS, he's basically Jaden Smith with a combover."

BERNIE!

Trump "made" the money? More like inherited it, borrowed it, & hid behind his corporations to run out on millions (or billions?) in debt..4 of his companies went bankrupt:
