I don't remember where or when I read it, but I could swear I read somewhere that Kyle HAD completed his sensitivity class for Nascar.

I think you guys may be missing the point, which is it's just totally irrelevant whether or not NASCAR chooses to reinstate  Larson right now at this particular time.   They can reinstate him tomorrow and you still ain't gonna see him on a NASCAR track when they resume racing.

I'm not missing that point so you're barking up the wrong tree.  Its likely that he will be back in time.  Like the old saying goes, "follow the money".  "I love Sprint Car racing so much that I'd walk away from a chance to make millions" said no sane man ever.  wink

Article also says he still owns some more land in the area that's not for sale. Another option for a future home.

Possibly his race shop for the WoO team?

My original response was to original poster Egras, who had stated that some people were mad or were criticizing NASCAR because they hadn't reinstated him.   If Larson still had his Ganassi ride and his sponsors, then I wouldn't be happy with NASCAR for not reinstating him either.   I agree he will be back in NASCAR eventually, but I think we'll have a chance to see if he can be a WoO champion before that happens.

I think youll see him race for a smaller team this year.  Repair his image and in a SHR car next year or the year after that.  Just my opinion

That was my entire point to starting this thread.  I was being a smart ass.  It doesn't matter what Nascar does.  They aren't keeping him out of racing right now.

I think part of the reason is that whether your a dirt track, short track, or a disgruntled old school Nascar fan people find ways to hate on Nascar. Granted Nascar has brought some of this on themselves with some of the decisions they have made for over 15years trying to get that young adult crowd who are now over 40yrs old since they started.

But in this case, if they did reinstate them it's not like he would be racing this weekend even if a small start & park team asked. At this point it looks like he is trying to adjust his lifestyle a little bit and get things organized to rebuild his image. Reinstated by Nascar won't do much for him in the short term. I don't think we will see him make a world of Outlaws title push. I think there will be some team kind of like a front row Motorsports (believe their car owner is a franchise owner for most of their sponsors) that offers him a ride at a substantially reduced salary than what he's used too. Still think the SHR ride is still a slim option as long as he keeps his head low. If that doesn't happen, then probably a WoO push will be made.

I think you bring up an excellent point with teams like Front Row.  A team owner, who also owns the sponsorship would be his best bet.  The team owner would have to be prepared for the possibility of negative publicity and business boycotts from the African-American community, but that is really his best shot.

I think TSR is a very, very slim chance at this time.  Tony wouldn't even consider making that move until he consulted with all sponsors for every other team.  I cannot imagine any of those sponsors willing to risk the backlash quite yet.  It may be years down the road before he sees a ride of that quality.

Outlaws?  He could fund a car out of his pocket or survive with some smaller-market sponsors who don't have a lot of national exposure-----like Finley Farms.  But, he's not going to get a Napa, Budweiser, or anything like that.  So, it's going to soak a little money to go that route.

Yes, its going to be a rough road for Kyle Larson, especially the next few years as people like Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson and others of that ilk will be keeping one eye on Larson and as soon as some sponsor (major sponsor or even a small company) decides to back Larson, you can bet they will be making their tired old racist comments, after all its how those guys make a living.  And CNN, CNBC, etc will be right there giving them plenty of  one-sided air time.

This is an honest question imo, but how many American consumers know that Larsen said what he said and then what percentage of those know Tony Stewart owns more than 1 car and how many of those know the sponsor on the other car has the same owner as the car Larsen is in and how many of those would actually say im gonna drive 9 miles for a pair of shoes instead of shop at the store across the street who sponsors the car  owned by Stewart but not driven by Larsen.

Then change from Nascar to other series he's involved with and make all the same connections. I get it thag people on racing forums make the connection but the 60 yr old black lady probably  does know or care if she does know.

Every dollar is worth a dollar and we al want as many as we can get but jeepers......

I don't see where you get off accusing Sharpton & Jackson of making "racist comments". They're playing defense...have black people enslaved, lynched & segregated whites?

FWIW, Marty Smith (ESPN) was on ESPN radio this morning and talked about Kyle Larson a little bit.  Mentioned a few things lot of us forget when talking about him and his Nascar life.   I'm sure if anyone is interested in what he had to say you can catch it on the podcast of the show.  In the 7am hour (central).

I hope this is sarcasm. The reverend Al Sharpton has a long list of racist comments. In 2000, Congressional House Resoloution 270 condemned the racist and anti-Semetic views of the Reverend Al Sharpton. This resolution was authored by Joe Scarborough when he was still in Congress and not on TV. It amazes me how history is so easily forgotten.

While confusing, I get your point.  No, not now the general public does not know.  However, had Credit One and Chevrolet hung on to Larson, you'd better bet this would have been a bigger story.  Most African-Americans do not know how many cars and what sponsors TSR has.  But, if TSR signed Larson, you'd better believe activist groups would let everyone in America know about TSR's ties to a racist.

This is bigger than Nascar, talk of double-standards, and politics.  This is big business and big business likes to continue doing big business with everyone of every color.  They will not take chances and will separate themselves from anyone who threatens their stock price.

Short form. How few people will actually stop spending money at a business whose name is painted on a car not driven by Larsen because he sits in the seat of a different car with a common owner?

I see your point there, and in all reality I think almost noone who frequents a place like McDonalds would stop going there over that.
