i can understand where bathrooms being clean is important to many, as the times i went to knoxville nationals the bathrooms were clean at the beginning of the night but by the end it was last place you wanted to go the bathroom, especially to sit on toilet. alot of this was from people drinking to much and throwing up or developing the hershey squirts. i have not been to knoxville in a while so hope this is better. remember going to the 360 races during labor day weekend at the now closed lake ozark speedway and the restroom was as clean at the end of the night as the beginning. of course lake ozark speedway had a bathroom attendant on duty all night in the bathroom. i agree if we want crowds to grow and go beyond the hard core fans we need to draw in casual fans and keeping clean bathrooms wouldn't hurt.

I got to be a pro at squeezing into porta johns with a camera, flash, and battery pack over my shoulder and I swear some of them hadn't been serviced for a month. On the other hand, I tried since the 70's to coax wife, family and friends to the tracks with very limited success. I ended up being a loner for most of my photo taking and writing years. Years ago at Jackson we used to joke about the infield bathroom that a renovation would probably amount to a new trough to direct the piss. Now the place is totally remodeled and although I have yet to get down there I hear that the place is awesome so yes, it is possible to clean up and renovate tracks. Unfortunately it sounds like a permit issue in the case of this discussion with the probable goal being to eventually force the place out of business.

MSRN reported yesterday...
Kevin Swindell Racing will be tackling the 29th annual COMP Cams Short Track Nationals at I-30 Speedway with USAC standout, Spencer Bayston behind the wheel next weekend.
Will be interesting to see how the talented young driver fairs at I-30. He bagged a 5th last weekend with the Arctic Cat All Star Sprints at Atomic Speedway.
