Great restraint would have been to simply ignore the guy. He's putting himself in line for legal action. This kind of reaction over a drunk mouthing off makes absolutely no sense to me.

Winner winner chicken dinner.
Obviously easier said than done when your the target of the heckling. It is always better to just smile and keep on kicking ass just to spite people like that vs lowering yourself to their level.

I kind of wish it were still like back in the AJ Foyt and Bob Kinser days when simply kicking the guys ass was acceptable! Buying a ticket doesn't give anybody the right to be disruptive or disrespectful!

My granddad had a saying that seems pretty appropriate here. "Don't pick a fight with something meaner than you".
After going up into the stands to "kick some guy's ass" would be a hell of a time to find out you weren't the meaner one. Nothing to gain with conflict if the outcome would be in doubt.

Seen on the news that the sheriffs department is investigating the incident. Seriously!!!! you can tell its 2016 where everyone gets their feelings hurt over everything. It was just two men in a disagreement no punches were throw. Should take about 30 seconds to investigate.

Once again Tony makes a complete and total ass of himself.
Luckily this time it didnt cost anyone their life.
Funny to see how all the people turn into "dindu nuffins" real quick when tony is involved.

If the drunken "fan" was taunting and insulting Tony for an extended duration, why did not Security intervene sooner? The scene could have been much uglier, sooner if a similarly drunken, Stewart "fan" had taken umbrage and attempted to defend Tony's honor. Happens all the time. Regarding The Sheriff's Dept. investigating the incident, my suppostion is involves the fact the drunken "fan' has been confirmed as an off-duty law enforcement officer. Given many, not all, off-duty law enforcement individuals carry while off duty, public intoxication was alledgely involved, it is incumbent for the Sheriff investigate the matter. Correct or incorrect, law enforcement personnel are held to a higher and different standard than the average citizen.

Held to a higher standard by whom? If he was at the race as a spectator and got drunk, why should that have any bearing on what he does for a living? A drunken dipshit is a drunk n dipshit.

From what I've seen, Tony was not the primary aggressor. The dipshit drunk tried to push Tony and security stepped in.

From what I saw Tony stomped towards the guy and then put his hands on him first.
Then it became an old man test of strength. Luckily that security with the TSR hat was there to contain the rowdy "drunk" before smoke was able to french kiss him. How embarrassing.

So, if Tony had been dealing with this for an extended period of time, with regards to this same guy in the stands,
why didn't he get someone from the security team to watch the guy and then boot him out when he became obnoxious?
Oh yeah, Tony Stewart!

You Saw it one way, I saw it different. I'm gonna err on the side of the sober guy. But, then again, you're not a Stewart fannanyway, so there's no use debating this with you or your kind.

Stewart is a fukn douche bag, I could care less how much championships, money or sprin cars he has...Him running up into the stands to confront a drunken heckler with security in tow also proves he is a pussy and a complete dumb ass. He should be used to the heckling by now, he's a famous athlete, comes with the job.....oops, sorry, athletes don't have a huge pot belly. Regardless, Tony has heard plenty of heckling in his days, as too have many other celebrity/professional athletes. Since when is it acceptable to jump into a crowd of spectators and act like some tough guy with security kissing his ass. He's supposed to turn a blind eye if he was the bigger man. He's the professional and it comes with the territory. Every athelete has his detractors and haters. But Tony loves the attention and drama. One day I'd love to see someone knock him out cold.

Sounds like this this guy needs to be hanging out with the 2 drunken fireman from the Nationals a few years ago. Is there a community servant heavy alcohol section?

My only disappointment is that the off duty drunk officer didn't get knocked out. That'd been a nice result. Hopefully common sense prevails and he is fired. Law enforcement absolutely must be held to a higher standard whether on the job or not. Nobody is above acting decent in public.
Cheers!
