Waynesfield. If they put more stands in, they could have some badass shows. Non-Wing, Midget, Winged

Any that that don't expect people to come, buy a ticket and get excited with a skating rink for a surface 2 seconds a lap slower than 15 years ago.

I bet if there were more Ford or Mopar motors in the field that track wouldn't slick off like that. I sure hate it when tracks slick off and you have to watch drivers showcase there talent of driving the car and throttle control, I'd much rather watch a hammer down/ evenly spaced out between each car heavy track race too.

River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks N.D. Real bullring with fantastic racing week in and week out..Great WOW shows twice a year and weekly shows..The sprints are awsome there with great racing each week..Don Mack and crew have really upped the show there since they took over from Jim Corcoran..Jim ran a great show too but Don and crew have improved it immensely..Grooves all over the track and tacky from start to finish...

Johnny Gibson refers to RCS as his favorite track to watch the WoO. I think the cat is out of the bag on that one. Only been up there once and wish it was closer. Racing was awesome.

141 is fantastic. You can watch racing from the bar if you desire. Great people, great food, clear updated facility. They are ready to host big events.
I tell it like I see it.

I agree that 141 is agreat facility. seating is decent. they reconfigured the track that made it so much better, still I think plymouth dirt track is much better facility, Manitowoc county expo is good also not a bad seat in the house,

Ocean Speedway, Santa Cruz County Fairgrounds in Watsonville, CA. Tight 1/4 mile that rarely get's dusty. Most times it's tough to keep the front wheels on the ground, but occasionally dries out just enough to create a perfect surface with a low groove, a cushion and just enough slick to slide through the middle. 360 point racing on Friday nights and two KWS 410 shows each season. As far as facilities, I give it a 7 out of 10 so no complaints there. Very nice fairgrounds in a beautiful part of California.

I'll add to your post that imo this track has the best race track food of any I've been to in Ca. North or south.
Peace, Out.

Thought this topic could gin up some decent discussion here. What's the best track(s) you've been to that doesn't have a large following, or haven't hosted national or larger regional races?
I submit Lee County Speedway in Donnellson, IA. The semi-banked, black dirt 3/8" mile has hosted many Sprint Invaders races, maybe a MOWA race, a few standalone 410 specials over the years, and a POWRi race 6-7 years ago that still might be the best race I've ever seen. The track usually slicks off very nicely, and on good nights retains moisture around the bottom similar to Knoxville.

I am guessing 34 Raceway would be too well known to make the list so I will go with Spoon River Speedway near Canton, IL. The facilities are quite aged and the bleachers are a little sketchy but I love watching sprint cars there. Super high banked 3/8, very fun to watch! They race a couple MOWA shows there a year now and the Tom Knowles in September which is a sprint/midget special.
I also like Jacksonville, IL. 1/4 mile bullring that always has a lot of action.

Another vote for Waynesfield, which was recently featured in Sprint Car & Midget magazine.

I hate racing at Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, GA. Just never felt comfortable there, but on the other hand I love going there because there are so many people. The place is always packed with fans all around the track and they seem to really appreciate sprints.
Whenever I'm sitting on the track about to get pushed off, you look up in the stands and think "My God, there's a ton of people here."

Agreed. I've lived in Central PA for my entire life and this was as close to home as I could get. However, I was a little surprised at the amount of back marker cars. I'm a Lincoln giy and have come to know a fairly competitive field. And I liked that they serve beer. That's a nice benefit. It was like a stadium, covered bleachers, nice racing surface. Worth a visit.
