What really concerns me is not the start but the guy on the backstretch waiving the yellow flag at the outside fence opening. This is a trajedy waiting to happen. With all drivers having raceivers this day and age there is ABSOLUTLY NO REASON AT ALL for this guy to be standing there. I know it is a change of subject but that was what stood out to me the most. Hopefully someone from the Grove will see this and put a stop to it before something bad happens.

Man I was thinking the exact same thing. Replace the life with a light folks. If it gets hit it's replacable. Absolutely stupid!
Thoughts flash back to 90's when the indy car went airborne at the roadcouse in Toronto I believe. Went just high enough to clear the guardrail and hit a local area flagman in the head and kill him instantly.

Stripes and cones.....Who remembers the days that the polesitter set the pace on the starts and when restarts began going into 3 and was determined by the driver who erned the right to set the start? Now.......Who misses that?
|
I do. Especially the cone rule. I've always thought not being able to pass until you reach the cone is ridiculous. When the green flies, that should mean race. I understand what they're trying to accomplish with the stripe rule, but I don't like it. If they want something like that, put two stripes. One midway through three and one midway through four. The pole sitter can then go anywhere in between.

A couple of questions. Was the flag man waving the green when he took off? Does his car take off that much better than the others? That would make it look like a jump...

Sammy is entered in the 360 Nationals driving Donnie Cooper's 01 that weekend. He's also driving the Donnie Cooper 01 at Randolph County Raceway in Moberly, MO this weekend.

Welp that kills my idea. I guess my gut was just saying it was hungry.

Yeah it sucks he did that but i dont think he had but a top 5 car anyway the way Ott,Schatz, and smith were running a little better then him.I would like to see video of how bad the jump was though. Hoefully Sammy can help paul and his team run better in the future. There was some talk Sammy might drive that car 40 races next year and I hope he does but I think he will have to get at least one win before CJB motorsports actually does 40 races with him

No pressure for a win when you are the R&D driver. The 1 car is trying new things to help get the 51 faster.

Scott Benic a top notch crew chief? No way! He is the reason Jac & Dollansky left the car. He is clueless with winged cars. He made a nice living with non-winged cars, but is out to lunch with the wing. Lee Stouffer is not with the car anymore, leaving after the King's Royal.
The #7 is junk and will always be junk. You cannot tell me that David Gravel all of a sudden "forgot" how to drive a sprint car.

Gravel hasn't forgotten a thing about driving, of course. But look at how many people in the past months or so made the statements that Sammy, Jac and Craig were washed up as drivers. I find it laughable when fans turn on a drivers ability in such a short time. Especially drivers that have been winners for as many years as those guys. All three of them are in good shape and take care of themselves. Some people just don't get it. But then again, the driver is the obvious reason a car goes backwards, to fans that don't realize what other talents and hard work it takes to go forward.

Judging from the video, he jumped
But they should have let it slide cause he's an old guy
Just like that Seinfeld episode where Uncle Leo shoplifts... "They'll never arrest me, I'm old, I'll just say I forgot to pay"
Store detectives didn't buy that either...
