I agree that it will actually make the feature and the heats less entertaining. The new format essentially eliminates any driver ever getting a" bad draw" and it will practically guarantee that the heavy hitters will start in the front half of the feature. It will be a rarity to see someone like Schatz to ever have to run the B or even start from deep in the field.

I cannot blame the WoO though. They are essentially doing what is best for their drivers.

"They are essentially doing what is best for their drivers"

At the expense of the paying customer.    It is getting harder to justify the cost of a WoO event and this does not help their cause.

This change is only to make sure any WoO full time teams that draw a high number for time trials still can start up front in a heat. This is to lower the chance of a WoO driver going out late to time and missing the heat invert. And they took the 8 out of the draw for the dash invert. Guess they do not want to chance the fastest cars starting to far back in the A.

Yep. Sweeping change with immediate results...

1st Heat won from Pole.

2nd Heat won from 2nd.

3rd Heat won from Pole.

4th Heat won from 2nd.

Dash won from 2nd.

B Feature won from Pole.

Thankfully, to save the event, Stewart started 4th and won over the Pole Sitter.

Bless the WoO to identify this and make immediate and event altering format change, as I picked Kerry for the win. Silly me.

One race from somewhere other than the front row. In all fairness, that's a lot of passing for a WoO race./

A better solution might be better track prep.  Maybe the tracks wouldn't take rubber 1/2 way through the main event either.

One thing that tends to get overlooked is that (in my opinion) todays sprint cars are way over powered. That and the bigger tires vs years back is what kills a track. Afterall, dirt and moisture haven't changed much in a millin years and yet we have a tougher time keeping tracks competitive for an entire lineup of qualifiers. Plus, the track is exhausted by nights end. Cut the power (and cost) of the engines.....down size the right rear a bit, and make more compounds available for the teams to adjust with.

No wings and a Firestone Diamond 500 on the right rear.
