Ronnie Shaver's won multiple WoO titles, multiple Kings Royals, Syracuse and broke track records from coast to coast. Does that qualify as "good"?

Eh, didn't Jeff Swindell have Ford's under the hood while driving the 7TW car after Luna retired from car ownership?
Seems to me that they had a lot of trouble keeping the Fords together and ended up running Bow Ties a lot that year so that they could keep racing while the Fords were being worked on.

The 104 had a Ford I think.
It's funny whoever said that the Roush/yates ford cost the chevy 360 teams a lot of money because of the heads when the r-y 360 was considerably cheaper than most of the other big name engine builders 360's at the time..hmmm.
The most laughable thing is calling a 410 or 360 engine a chevy or ford or mopar to begin with...because of the block design I guess. Nearly eevry other part is on these engines is a machined aftermarket part. Hardly anything is stock. That's why they're so expensive. Sprint car racing should have embraced the 430 engine (ZL1?) that was developed by Shaver and Schatz a few years ago made mostly of stock Chevy parts. The only affordable alternative now is the much slower 305, or wingless on a bullring.

Wasn't it just a few years back thar Jason Johnson and Randy Martin ran fords? Was't that when Roush or Yates was building them? Must not have worked very well. They did not set the world on fire and then those guys stopped making them. If Roush/ Yates can't make a good sprint car motor out of a ford then who could?

Gerald Cressman. Not sure if he's still in the business though.

1989 and 1995
Luna's Ford engine style that won 2 WoO titles and 3
Kings Royals before a weight rule against the best EVER
in their prime and now DOMINATES super dirt late model
racing is no longer allowed/wanted in a WoO sprint
car.... Was Luna a miracle worker?

Ford 360 was damn near unbeatable. They showed little interest in 410's.
|
Not that at all. The truth of the matter is the Chevy head was at a disadvantage to the Ford head and thus folks ran the Ford stuff. The 410 motor world is an entirely different situation as far as heads go.

How'd we go from Haud getting another shot in the 83 car to a debate about the Ford 410 program?

Running chevs most of the time while accepting funding from Ford doesn't count.
|
And what was the reason they were running Chevs most of the time?
I'm sure it was because the Ford was such a superior motor that Jeff felt bad for the competition.

the 104 didn't run Chevys "most"of the time, if I can find my records I'll tell you exactly how many times they did but they won 3 races one with Chevy and two with Ford.

LMAO You guys are right, we're completely off topic now. If you look though, you'll find that almost every thread that goes more than one page goes that way. The only threads that don't get off topic are the ones that don't carry the potential for controversy, like "what's are some good restaurants to eat at while I'm in Knoxville" or "where are some good hotels", etc. Anything else, and someone like Minthess will hijack it with their anti-Chevy or anti-whatever rants.

I have heard Haud is driving for Indy Race Parts for bigger shows this summer. My guess is Roth is done on the tour for time being, but may pop up again for bigger shows in June/July/August

Kentucky and Vegas with the Ford right Rob? LOL Surprised a real Ford racer would take the time to hang with a wannabe like me
