To me it looks like the renegade series is the new ASCoC. As much as I liked and suopported the all-star series over the years, the wrting is on the wall. You can't have a series with no cars. Webb should just give the name to the Renegade series, it's worth nothing at this point. At least that way the name and history can go on.

the first race in hibbng had 24 cars and the second race they hosted there had 7 or 8 sprints... ya it was a joke
as for the show in superior it was originally planned for thursday and had a bunch of the woo drivers there along with tony stewart, but they called the show right before the start time due to a quick rain shower, they returned later that weekend and only had 14 sprints from the previous 30+ car count as all of the woo drivers stayed in fargo

I have gone up there for the IRA when they run the Friday of the Northern Nationals and a few Late Model specials. I shy away from mid-week Sprint races that take place hundreds of miles from the closest 410 tracks and so far following my hunch has saved me time and money. I'm pretty close to CLS so I don't have a reason to chases races around during the week with the schedule they have going over there. Plenty of racing for every taste. Chasing races is overrated.

The word I'm getting from the Ohio grapevine is that a sale of the series is indeed in the works. I don't have any specific details and the players that I have talked to are very tight-lipped at the moment. I don't know what that means for the 2015 season if Webb does indeed part ways with the series. Not much time left before the Florida races!

Just thinking outloud/what if....
If the ASoC namesake/brand is sold to say a reputable person or group (one that would have promise)....then what? Then we would having competing series here in the Ohio region. Would some of those drivers committed to the Renegades go back to the All Stars?
Why would someone buy the ASoC and just fold it, leaving just the Renegades? I don't see that happening. Sometimes we need to be careful what we wish for!

A merger of the Renegades with the new owner of the ASCoC would not be out of the question.

Maybe they are one in the same? Or in some way linked together? That would be best case...
In any case, I am hoping for the best. I really believe that this can get bigger and grow with the right direction.

I've heard names and entities mentioned, but nothing is certain. I haven't talked to Guy since before all of this latest mess started, so I have NO official news from the source himself. I'm just speculating in my own mind. The rumors I have heard do not include the Renegades or any member of that organization as potential bidders. The whole thing, to me, is a complete disaster with what is happening in the Ohio region at the moment. I've said many times over on my Pit Gate board that I have nothing against the new series or anyone involved with it...and I understand their reasoning. I'm more concerned about the BIG picture right now. How are tracks/promoters affected by this? How are fans affected by this? How are sponsors affected by this? The two competing series...and now the potential sale of one of them and the unknowns that go along with it could cause a financial implosion and impending doom for Ohio dirt track racing. That may sound overly dramatic, but there are real concerns being voiced by the people who stand to lose business over all of this. That is why Attica made the deicision last week to switch to the Renegades...they have a business to protect first and foremost. Fremont is riding the storm out. Other tracks have made their decisions. Now an All Star sale adds another can of fuel to the fire with the uncertainty of what is coming in the next few weeks/months. I am sitting back, watching all the fireworks, and thanking the racing gods that I got out of the race series promotion business when I did.

Great post Swamp! 99% of the folks on here think only of how events affect them, not our sport in general. It's like the low gas prices we are experiencing right now. They aren't necessarily a good thing; but that's not a subject for this board.
I am lucky enough to work at one of the best tracks
anywhere.

The All Stars may have acquired the domain name a while ago just to be a pain in the Renegades rear... who knows. But it may be something.
Also heard a rumor Tony Stewart may be involved in some of this deal. Just a rumor.

I guess getting clever and buying up domain names with the money owed to owners who ran for points makes some sense in a junior high kinda way?
ANY potential BUYER has time on their side...if you don't think the price is dropping each day, you have never been in business.

We don't need people like this running our sport!
We need foward thinking, positive leaders, who have the ability to solve problems.
It's time to drain the swamp!

Swamp that is a Joke! Every one knows you and Farmer are connected. You want to save a series that treats people like crap whether it is owners or drivers. Stay on pit gate where you can kick off the people who do not support you or Rich. Rich has made his bed and has no way out. He was booking ang leasing tracks for the ASCoC. No drivers will not race his track. Renegades are trying to restore racing and you and Rich keep trying to tear it down. Is it the time of the month to report in? You loose.

I'll be at Fremont with my 410. According to this post I may be the only one. That should help T-Shirts sales.

What a lot of people are forgetting is that there is a large group of Ohio based sprint car teams that will NOT be travelling with the Renegades Series or All Star Series. As for weekly racing in the state of Ohio, Attica, Fremont and Wayne County will pull almost full fields of sprint cars every week (15-20) regardless if there is a sanctioned event nearby.
There is a healthy group of southern Ohio sprints who have been participating in the Ohio Valley Series that are content with the travel series has and for some that may be too much.
My point, regardless if it's Renegades, All Stars, Ohio Valley or weekly racing, there will be cars at the track and it's up to the fans to support the drivers and tracks that make this sport so awesome!!!
