I have been to Cocopah twice in the past few years and spent time there in addition to the race dates.  If you are to be there during the week between the race weekends, there is plenty to see and keep you busy in addition to the Casino.  I suggest to google-up, Yuma flee markets and swap meets, the town of Quartsite and the town of Los Algodones, Mexico.  There are a number of flee markets in the area that are open during the week.  The town of Quartsite is about a 1 1/2 hour drive North.  It would be best to google Quartsite Events schedule to know what is taking place.  They have an annual rock-hound swap meet, car shows and many other activities along with an ongoing flee market all winter.  The Mexican border town of Los Algodones is only 7 miles from Yuma.  It is probably the safest border town you will visit.  You will need a passport however.  And the city of Yuma has the Prison Museum and other museums and historical attractions.  For those flying to Yuma, it is much cheaper to fly into either Phoenix or San Diego, there about the same distance (185 miles) away from Yuma.  And each of those cities have lots to offer.  I hope this helps with some planning for those that have never been there.  Oh, and the racing facility and the racing is second to none!

There will be a schedule of daily events for race days and non race days by the end of the week.

I hope this was sarcasm.

There are multiple reasons to run that race here in AZ and there's one more winter series here, The Winter Challenge.

Remember the SLICK 50 at both Manzy and Canyon?

Half the lies they tell about me aren't true.

As I recall the Slick 50 shows were always pretty good at Manzy and terrible at Canyon. The Canyon shows on TV were full of flips and delays out the wazoo. I remember stating then that if I wasn't already a sprint car fan the Canyon races would not have made me one. Pat Patrick tried, though, but the races needed to be at Manzy.

The slick 50 series ...which was very popular lasted multiple weekends with no midweek shows. We have a good plan and a good team. Come enjoy some January sprint car racing. Let's support it so it gets a chance at a 2nd year and if it needs adjustment it will get it.

Will be my 2nd trip to Cocopah, looking forward to some awsome Sprint Car Raceing. Will be there all week.

Mine was total sarcasm.  I am cognizant of the weather in Yuma during this time of year as opposed to the weather in cited cities.

Yes, I realize this and I agree with you.  The reason I said this is because I think you should go back and look at the original post of sonoranrat that you gave a very "serious" response to, in which he clearly notes at the bottom he is being sarcastic.
