I think many would be surprised at the things Sammy does for other drivers/teams. He might have a very short fuse but he does a lot to help drivers....especially young ones just coming on to the circuit. I would love to have his sprint car knowledge!!!

I know that he is helping young gun David Gravel. Saw Gravel posted that his shirts were being sold out of the Swindell merchandise trailer. Maybe Mr. Swindell remembers when he began how hard getting everything in order Was. Maybe he is trying to keep this sport and the love of the sport out there knowing that these young drivers and teams are the Future of this Great Sport We all Love So Much . Sammy you have gained a new fan in Me £ Thank you!

It does my heart good to see comments on here of this nature. Having personally known Sammy and his family for over 50 years, I can tell you that the racetrack perception from the stands is not the racetrack perception from the pits. I can say, nobody works harder and more intent to make racing a success either by helping others or by winning the big ones. As a 14 yr old at the ditch in Arkansas, he got a terrible reception because he won everything. Even after his terrible bout with rocky mt tick fever which nearly killed him, he was booed on his return to the track. He still won and was always apologetic for those poor sports in the stands that insulted his family and friends by saying," they just don't understand racing business." He minds his own business and helps, loan, encourages and supports the youngsters entering the sport. If he put you in the wall, it was to race you to the flag and you were slower and got in the way. I can remember the torrid go carts in the Swindell backyard in Bartlett between Jeff and Sammy and neither gave the other any quarter, so why now? Sammy eventually will solve his middle of the pack problem and sit up front again, count on it.
Run Sammy run.... run Jeff run ... run Kevin run...
Rest of you folks get out of the way....
