Maybe i stead of talking shit u need to keep quiet & wait till you see what ur workin with cuz when u show up there u will c what were talking about. It has nothing to do with 410/360 or association. I e seen u post before that the one of those big races out in cali is the biggest 360 race in the country, hate to dissapoint but this we be the biggest specticle for 360's.    I live less than 10 mins from track & are the mayor of alexander & live closer than glad brad who is alderman of benton

Huh?

about a third of a mile down the road to the motorcycle track has plenty of camping and........bus you back and forth.  no need to stress, the event is worth the wait, trust me!

I am very suprised to see the Short Track Nationals in Little Rock has an exclusive club to camp.  As a fan, you can't just pull up and camp.  You have be on a special list and/or know someone.  How the hell is a first time fan supossed to camp!!!!  Can I park my car there for the race or is that VIP as well?

I have never heard of a situation like this in my life and I have been going to races for 30+ years.

My current plan is too pull up and just find a spot to camp but someone said they will tow you if you don't have a camping sticker?  I guess I will find out how they will tow my 30 ft. camper!!!!  Can someone tell me what the camping sticker looks like so I could make one at home???  I am exploring all optoins so I can camp at or less than a mile from the track.

Very frustrated fan!!!!

Camp at Wal-mart...it is about 1 mile from the track...Lots of racers and fans "camp" there.  You will enjoy the races!

You guys are missing the point.  This is not the Superbowl, a cruise in Houston,  a Rolling Stones concert or even the Chili Bowl.  I am not even speaking about tickets.... this is about camping which is very common occurance at a sprint car race.   I have never had this problem in PA, NorCal or the Midwest.  I guess I am used to 410's and the WoO which has proper accomodations for the fans....... I don't see the 360's much and maybe this is the norm.

When Eldora and Winchester (IN) ran out of camping, they rented out the farmer field next door.  Other tracks have figured this out such as Knoxville... you may be 1 or 2 miles from the track but they have space for everyone.  Please tell me another short track in the nation that doesnt have ample camping for the fans??

My solution is get away from the exclusive club of 80 campers and open up additional space to the public.  What is this, a private golf course?   I guess I am used to the rest of the country where there is ample camping for the fans!

Frustrated Fan!!!!!

Oakland Sprint Fan, if you dont like the fact that all of the camping spaces are already reserved you are gonna have a coronary when you get there and cannot sit within 20 rows of where you would like to sit because of the blankets and such that is taped onto the seats to reserve them. Youre also probably not gonna like the fact that it is SO crowded that you will have knees in your back all night and if you arent close to the end of a row, getting out to go to the concession stands or the restrooms (omg youre gonna freak out when you go in there) just isnt worth it.

I have only been going to STN for about 7 years but I completely respect those who have been going there much longer than I have and understand that they have earned the privilege to getting the first option of their campsites.

You might wanna reconsider and just stay home because STN Sprint Car Fans are NOT gonna give a flying flip if you like something or not.

Always Satisfied STN Fan

ever been to the Devils Bowl, they make you camp across the road from the track, I-30 doesn't have that option, as they don't own the adjacent property,  they had to instill some semblance of order, so they set a limit on how many campers/motorhomes they allow on the property, they're just trying to make adequate use of what limited parking space they do have, we stayed at the Hampton Inn in the nearby town of Bryant, and the hotel had a shuttle van that took us out there and picked us up after the races, not sure if any other hotels in Bryant do that?

very few if any first time people get to camp at the track for the knoxville nationals, they certainly can find camping spots but they are not at the track,

like others have said just not enough room, even though there are many cars and lots of laps of racing, this really is not that big of a event,

many motels within 10 miles,

I would not want to camp at the track....... Hotel room is 100% better then staying at the track.  If you have never been you will not be impressed with the facilities...... Thumbs down to great venue..... Have not had an issue with people although last year in turn 1 cops had to escort some folks out...... So, go because you like to watch sprint cars run, do not go if you are expecting a cool fancy racing venue......

The Trophy Cup in California is the best 360 show in the country that goes for talent, format, purse and definitely facilities for camping and fan comfort. Don't deprive yourself the chance to witness real hard nosed racing with FULLY inverted lineups. The Thunderbowl at Tulare is top notch atmosphere.

Cheers!

It's a small track, small seating capacity & small camping capacity.

It absolutely baffles me that some people wouldn't understand that.

80 spots?  What if 200 people want them?  Yeah... that's rocket science.  That OR... sold out?

Supply & demand.  First come... first served.  You bought them last year?  First right of refusal.  Not the first I've heard of a similiar policy, not the first time I've encountered it firsthand.

They were talking about limited camping over the loudspeaker at the USAC race there; that or sold out.  Didn't apply to me so I didn't pay attention.  Several announcements though.

A hundred sprintcars over 4 days on a 1/4 mile bull ring.....

who gives a shit about the quality of the venue? I'd pay to sit on tree branch if it meant getting to see that!

You would really enjoy Eagle Raceway in Silsbee, Texas.

So, you waited until just a couple of weeks prior to the event and expected to get camping??  Maybe if you'd called in June.

MOST racetracks do not have ample camping or parking available for everyone.  Knoxville doesn't, sure they have their North Campground, but if the Marion County Park, Corp of Engineers (Lake Red Rock), Van Donselaar's, and Elk Rock State Park weren't available, over 1/2 the campers during the Nationals would have no where to go (and possibly even some during just some weekly events).

To me, camping is no different than tickets.  Sure, I want to get more tickets in the same spot I sit during the Nationals, but the people that have the seats next to me have sat there for 15 years.  Just because I've sat there for 16 doesn't mean that the Raceway should tell those people that I need 2 more tickets and they gave theirs to me so they'll have to find somewhere else to sit.  Now, if they choose to not to renew them and they become available, I'll buy them in a heartbeat and I'll have the option to order them year after year after year.

Instead of complaining on a message board, maybe you should have asked this instead:

I called and was surprised to hear that camping for the Short Track Nationals is sold out.  Does anyone know of any other places to camp close to the track and who I need to contact to be placed on the waiting list for 2014 and beyond?
