Looking for food suggestions for my website: www.FoodAroundTheTrack.com

Need some ideas around Eldora for the upcoming truck series race.

And, looking at doing something around Knoxville for the Nationals while there doing Winged Nation.

Thanks!

I highly recommend the tenderloin from the Northcoat Meats stand in Hy-Vee parking lot. Pay the extra quarter for a second bun and have a tenderloin that is too big for both buns after you cut it. I know a lot of people that end up taking some home from them as theybsell them frozen as well. Ribshack is great, Mexican restaurant on the square, Tasos, Dengs Garden Chinese food, and all the food at the track is great. McDonalds will not exist this year as it was torn down and being rebuilt. Kone Korner has great icecream as well.

Been to Knoxville many times. Always eat at the Casa Grande in downtown Knoxville and frequent the HyVee deli for breakfast almost every day and good lunches. Tenderloin at the track always a treat. Heard good reports on Rib Shack but haven't tried it yet, maybe this year.

Never been to Eldora.

Going to Williams Grove this week....anybody out there with suggestions in that area...thanks..

Yes. Casa Grande in Knoxville is a winner. As for the Grove, eat before you get there...

Best food @ the Grove is hands down the chicken sammich...It's made of the finest beaks, feets and squeezens in all the land... :/

Opinions may vary...

Half the reason I go to Kville is for the food so I recommend some protein early to stay full so the rib shack if you're looking cheap but if you want a full meal Tasos on the square is fantastic and after a day and night of drinking Hyvee breakfast at 3 in the morning is perfect

Northcote Meats (they'll have a stand across from the track in Hy-Vee parking lot (great briscuit sandwiches and tenderloins) - they are actually from Melcher-Dallas (12 miles from track)

Marion County Cattlemen stand (not sure where they'll locate it, but it'll be good)

Marion County Pork Producers (usually over by Dingus Lounge)

Rib Shack (outside of turn 2 by the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame & Museum)

Casa Grande Mexican Restaurant (downtown Knoxville)

Swamp Fox (downtown Knoxville)

Fast Freddie's Pizza (downtown Knoxville- great pizza, all one low price no matter how many toppings)

There will be numerous other foodstands thoughout the raceway area that all have great food too!

Check out Jaarsma's Bakery in Pella (11 miles from Knoxville) for donuts, pastries and the like.

Checkerboard Restaurant in Pleasantville (13 miles from Knoxville) has great Pizza and the best onion rings ever IMO

Not sure what Eldora offers besides track food due to location only (it's in the middle of nowhere, OH, USA)

See you Kville in a few weeks!

Best Meth in town!

That being said, Hawaiian Chicken by the ticket office and Duffy's BBQ by the train tracks are awesome. Best pulled pork you can find.

For Eldora, MaidRite (sp?) Sandwiches in Greenville is a must. Awesome!

Nobody feeling the love for Greenville Ohio's Maid Rite sandwiches besides me? Somebody throw me a bone here - thump, thump, is this thing on?

Culhane's steakhouse off of I-83 south at the Fishing Creek exit. It is about 20 minutes from the track.

GOOD LUCK!!! Good food in the midwest consists of McDonalds and pizza. its the issue we suffer from the most when in Kville. Take plenty of constipation meds, with all the crap and junk food there you'll need it!!! Best bet, eat in Des Moines and pray.

If that is the best food that you can find in the midwest, then you are incredibily lazy.

they do.  The racetrack buys theirs from Northcote meats as well.

Any sprint car fan knows the famous meal any Nationals attendee eats:

A Breaded Tenderloin from the track ...drink of choice the size of a small barrell and  a Snickers (usually melts as it is hot).

Real Nationals fans would also mention memories of Shortys Steak House in Pleasantville, IA. Some may make the trip to the Williamson tap for a hamburger.

The pizza on the Knoxville square tastes great after many laps of racing.
