We went to Plymouth last night, but I'd love to hear the story from what went on at Wilmot last night. Judging by the posts on IRA Facebook page, it sounds like the 80k and 2w got together in the Amain. What happened exactly?
|
The 80K and 2W didn't get together, the 80K simply ran over the 2W. The IRA just totally dropped the ball in allowing the 80K to retain his position, (maybe a rule is not in place addressing piss poor driving ability) seems to be a recurring theme with Kertscher, but someone has to make that decision. A couple of more laps and Lucas Wolff may have gotten by Kertscher, who was soundly BOOED upon his victory interview. The track was in good shape, and almost had a brawl when Neitzel walked calmly from his wrecked car in 4, to the 80K parked on the front stretch, closely followed by IRA officials. The car started rocking, I couldn't see what was going on, but an IRA official literally threw Neitzel to the ground. End of night....

The goal is to make it out your way a couple of times this year. We would also like to run a couple of the Beaver Dam shows with The IRA. Should see you guys at some point this year........It is funny that you have a guy following you around here that is claiming your gay while at the same time using the screen name "Dick Danger".

Stay in touch, looking forward to seeing you.

I'll give you my perspective. Neitzel and Kertcher having a great battle racing through traffic. Going into 3 80k goes in too hot, slams 2w and sends him for a flip. While 80k is sitting on frontstretch during red 2w walks down and has some heated discussion, even looked like he was trying to help Mike from his car. I thought maybe they would send the 80k to the pits from stuff i was hearing about rough driving last year. When they push off for the restart, 80k is leading the pack around under caution. I thought "They can't possibly let him restart in front after flipping the leader out of first place". But they did. I like to watch 80k as he always brings some excitement but I don't see how he was not sent to the rear for that. Street stock feature 2nd place car passes leader out of four and in turn 1 previous leader dumps new leader. Both were sent to rear. Inconsistency in ruling is one of my biggest pet peaves, along with not starting at advertised start time. Last night they accomplished both.

Very 'classy' move on Kertscher part trying to pull a slide job on Neitzel in lapped traffic. Neitzel on the high side in 3&4, Kertscher goes low. Both lanes filled and the 80k pulls a move out of his ass. Sinclair should've penalized the Cap't Jim's 80k by sending him to the rear or parked him. Not the first time Kertscher's driven over someone's head. No penalty was given, Mike got to start first, and that was that. Lucas Wolfe had a hard time getting a feel for the track and fell back to 5th before the 'controversy' but put it together to get 2nd. 37 cars total.

Thank you sir! Any idea if Wolfe will be at 141 tonight?

It wasn't a 'shit' show. That is what you have when your boyfriend comes over. It was just a shit 'no' call to leave Kertscher on the point. If you don't know what that means, it means in the lead position. You type real good for only using one hand.....

DF, you were questioning his driving abilities. There were maybe 3 good drivers there. He was one of them. Without those three, you saw a B-main. Or whatever from being down on all 4's!!

There were rumors rolling around the pits after the races that the 80k came in light after the A. But they could have quite possibly been just that.... rumors. I am not biased towards Neitzel or Kertscher. But looked to me like he ran him over. But it will probably be explained many different ways by many different people. All I know is Neitzel's Maxim (2nd night out) is junk and it was leaking quite a bit of oil from the oil pan. Would like to see at least a 3 car penalty for stuff like that (80k probably would have still won). However, then it all comes down to personal judgement. I know Neitzel had quite the long chat with Steve after the races. We will see if it sparks any kind of rough driving penalties in the future.

when you consistently run into people and take them out risking injury and costing loot its not awesome. its piss poor driving. the ability is there, its his judgement that lacks. mike has built this rep over time and consistent offenses. its nothing new. he's been that way his whole career. minis too.

OK guys, Here is the scoop on Wilmot. In the Street stocks the guy that spun Pinkalla out of the lead put HIMSELF to the rear. He felt bad for doing it.
That is a class act.
As far as the 80 K deal it was handled with a suspension. He has dumped far too many cars in the past.
For a guy who works at Road America and Sippel driving school he sure cant control his obvious tunnel vision and rage on the track.
Kercher is fun to watch but needs to cool off. That was only lap 11, not the last lap.
I tell it like I see it.
