Why hasn't your friend "Walt" filed a complaint with the California Attorney General's office and the local or State police department that covers that area??
Me along with many others done that to a dirt bag racing collectible business in Ohio that was screwing people out of money by not sending the merchandise they paid for and needless to say he was dealt with harshly by the State of Ohio.....

If this dosent light a fire under his ass. Yes, legal actions will be taken. But, I think my friend would much rather Leon just be a man and own up to what is right. Rather than having to go through California legal hoops. Especially with him living on the other side of the country.

Wow,the first thing I bought from Hoseheads classifieds was from Leon,called him about a new set of nozzles he had listed at a good price.When we spoke I told him I was leary of buying off of internet classifieds.He took my address and sent the new nozzles to me without payment,nozzles were good so I paid him.He was a straight up guy with me,seemed like a good dude.

I know people who have bought nozzles and hoses from him too. They say the more they emailed or called the lower the price got. One new set was bought for only $150. Thats roughly half price! Now why would someone sell brand new nozzles for half price??? I have a pretty good idea. Only question i have is.. Did u have to wear gloves to protect your fingers when u took them outa the box???
I was going to post the link to his screaming hot deals on nozzles but they are not to be found anymore. Hopefully my thanks can go to the good folks at hoseheads.

Feds bust theifs like this everyday. Sounds like it will be very easy to locate him and have him owe up to what hes done. Misdemeanor or federal offense im sure you scumbag will get yours!

I can't believe Leon is still at his scams. He has been brought to light several times over the years on these very forums. He has people in California and Indiana to name just two places, that would love a nice conversation with him in some dark alley out of the public view. This is by no means an isolated occurrence, its damn near clockwork.

Thinking a little more about Leon's screamin hot deals on Hilborn parts. I did a little investigating. Hilborn according to the address on their website is located in Aliso Viejo, CA. Mr. Haupt lives in Placentia, CA. After a quick google maps visit i find out that these two cities are only 30 miles apart. Hmmmm. Im wondering if maybe hilborn is having trouble with parts getting dropped on the floor and accidentally swept up????

Funny how someone that says there on the up and up so quickly deleted their active classified ads. I'd say time to start a small claims action. Although with small claims the bad thing is that usually people with these types of issues have about 5 people in front of you that have judgements and the right to collect their moneys first. I would guess that the $1400 can't just be returned now cause its long gone and thats what all the tap dancing around the refund is all about.

Funny that if this guy is as much a scumbag as everyone says, that Hoseheads even accepts the money for ads, when it can discredit them as well.

UPDATE!!!! UPDATE!!! I received a call from my good friend Walt last night. You good people's and my postings here on hoseheads apparently have Mr. Leon Haupt's attn. Yesterday Walt's phone was pretty busy according to what he was telling me. Hell, I even had a couple missed calls from a Corona, CA number! (Thank you David from Oklahomatidbits for giving him the pieces to THAT puzzle!! Haha!!) More than half a dozen calls came in from the west cost. HERE IS THE KICKER THOUGH!! Leon called begging and pleading in tears for Walt to get in contact with me so that I could stop this thread and the postings. According to Leon all the attention and light shedding was causing people who he was currently "dealing" with to back out. And, if this went on any longer he would be "ruined"! (I know, as ludicrous as this sounds I'm am not embellishing one detail.) And, at the same time never mentioning anything about getting my friend any money. Only asking for more time, more time. Mr. Haupt. Your time is up!!! Until my friend is returned the entire amount that he is owed this post will stay on top, and you will continue to be exposed not just on there but the other numerous racing classified ad sites that you pray upon. Thank you everyone for your comments, Leon horror stories, and very helpful suggestions!

Seems like an easy enough fix to me, give this Walt his money back, I would guess that he wouldn't even argue if you needed a 10% restocking fee out of the initial price as thats pretty common practice for auto part sales. If he gets his money back and Schwien comes on here and says the matter was settled and all parties are happy I'm sure this would very quickly go away but until that happens why should it go away? It serves as a good warning to others dealing with Leon then as to his business ethics and practices.

Well said! And, If that happens i will most gladly post that it was settled. Hell, even if he would send some of the money i would relay that there was at least progress. But, a gut feeling tells me that no good leon postings will come anytime soon...

Havent found any other classified sites that he is posting on except PASS sprints website. Did find some other interesting links to give a little more insight into our fuzzy little friend leon.
