I have to say whether you agree or disagree with my statement, I'm glad to see I've provoked such emotion from a few of you. It's actually good to see. I appreciate all of your opinions on my first ever forum post. Not much of a complainer really but when you've been watching something happen consistently for over a decade you eventually get a little frustrated. And believe me this wasn't just aimed at one person it's the whole state of AZ who just can't seem to figure it out. And Chris I would have enjoyed having a beer with you but I was too busy trying to get a car locked into the show, unsuccessfully I might add :-). Its a pretty tough thing to do drawing the back row of every race not to mention the single file racing conditions that I promised. But at the end of the day we just weren't good enough. They did however switch it up for the last night, we went single file rubber down racing instead of heavy single file racing, so all competitors got to burn off at least $1000 in tires. While there was a lot of fans, describing a place as "standing room only" that doesn't have enough grandstands for a little league baseball game is a little over zealous. I've been very fortunate to see a lot of very great races at very great venues with very great promoters, and I just wish all Arizona Sprint Car fans could see it the way that I have. Thank you every one for your time and support of Sprint Car racing.

First of all Mayhem, THANKS for fielding a car for my pleasure, wish I could afford to play with you- but can't on a teacher's salary. Secondly, What would you do different for track prep? Racing in a desert on crappy sandy desert soil and preparing it has got to be a crap shoot at best- but I know Canyon has spent big bucks improving the place over what it was ten years ago when I raced a mini-sprint there. I'm sure if you have the magic, Kevin would love to hear it. Also, you're right, Manzy is gone, and Tucson apparently couldn't put on the Western- I'm just glad I had four weekends of sprint car racing over the past six weekends (including the Oval Nationals at Perris). Just what is your complaint with Az? Not sure what your answer is unless it is for all the wingless guys to put the wings on to 'bring back winged racing in AZ'. Not trying to slam you, but not sure what your bitch is. By the way- I just spent almost a grand in tickets, gas, and food to try to help the economy and hopefully keep dirt track racing alive the best I can.

Yes I will address Kevin to one point. What the hell was the deal with green flags with water standing on the track? Not farming the track for the winged cars after a rubber down non wing 30 lapper? Even with the best tire, Hoosier, too many blown tires. Want to know why car count is down? He could care less if the cars are totaled, it's all the gate. The line at the gate was all the way to the West end of the parking lot to get in at 7:00! I have been treated far better at some pretty classy places, not this dump. Yes I am a long time sprint car owner and can appreciate the costs for all the teams! Not everyone has a tire deal or other deals to help. Being from the Midwest I can say I heard a lot of talk about 1st timers here not coming back. Isn't trying to kill it? Guess again!

I agree, especially with the long line, Almost asked If I could help with tickets or checking the bags to speed it up and I was there way earlier than 7:00. But if you were at Canyon 15 years ago, even 5, the place is way better than it was. I ran a mini sprint and we could get maybe four to six races on a RR at Manzy before we had to change it, one night at Canyon and it was toast (we didn't have the horsepower to spin them that much if there was any moisture in the track.) I hope it is a work in progress and it will get better. Sorry the folks won't give it another chance- I've been to lots of tracks around hailing from Kansas myself, and I've been to lots of tracks that either went dry slick, or rubber down on any particular night, Even at Knoxville!!! I thought the racing last night (Sat) was pretty decent as the wingless guys were able to throw some sliders to pass, and the winged guys could take a chance and run the cushion and maybe get a run on a guy down the back. Not the best races I've been to, but a heck of a lot better than being at home watching movies with the wife! : )
