I'm glad 'm not the only one that noticed that! lol
Just another thing to throw in there, at a majority of the SLS races that the 7 car made the dash, how often did the miracle pill get drawn that put the 7 car off the front of the Dash??
|
Like i stated i knew i would get bashed but just stanfing up for the other teams and guys who make a living out there. This is a common complaint with neaRly every team out there but they cant say anything due to the fact KKR guys were fined for telling the truth earlier in year through twitter
. Glad you brought up the dash draw reminds me about how during the last ten races with weather threatening on 4 occasions officials tried to save timeby not doing dash draw on front stretch and just "pulling a pill" miraculously putting the 7 on front row three of those times. Coinsidence? I think not along with MANY other travellerstravellers

So the kid they pull out of the crowd to pull the dash draw numbers is in on it too? This may go all the way up to Obama folks!
I'd read fuelsticks post a couple more times cause I think there's maybe some sarcasm in there.

I don't if it DID or DIDN'T...the car should have been sent packing...this was the finale event of the year, huge TV audience and the ruling was a crock of horsesh!t.
and before you lose you minds, I don't like Dollansky any "worse" than I don't like Lasoski or T-Sac - the 19 car was trashed because the 7 thought he could win on 3 tires.
|
My take.....it may not be popular either, but oh well: The 19 car has a driver that has been around long enough to know....and SHOULD have known that the tire wouldn't make it. He followed him around how many parade laps? Should have never put himself in the position to be wrecked. That being said, the 19 car would have stayed out and restarted under the same conditions, and I wouldn't blame him for it. It's racing, and very rarely does anyone remember 2nd place. You're there to win!

UM.....On A Double File Restart The 19 had no other choice than to start behind the 7.

What's the use of a black flag, because I haven't seen one used in years.

Last time I saw a black flag displayed was a WG heat race with Jeff Sheperd in the Apple 12 after the hood flew off the car in turn 3 while leading...several cuation laps and glorious hand gestures later...he parked the car at the flag stand and walked back to the pits!

I agree the 7 car should have been black flagged because of the obvious low tire. A better solution to the tire pressure problems with bleeders releasing pressure is to outlaw bleeders. They should have never been allowed in any form of dirt track racing. Do away with them and everyone is on the same playing field. Oh, and take the wings off also.
|
If you take the bleeders out, cars will start a race with 5-6 pounds of air, and some of those tires will fail> If you do not like wings go to USAC races. You see very few times that bleeders fail and cause a wreck. I agree the tack should have black flaged him. Knoxville has a rule that if a car seems to be unsafe it can be black flaged. It is very hard to expect a driver not to want to finish the race. Most drivers would do same thing.

Another exsmple that comes to mind is on three seperate occasions at SLS races i may add. Larry Hillerud who is another SLS partner has been witnessed taking the fuel cap off the 7 car and looking in then standing behind craigs car to be sure he was last car refired on red flags where they did not open up for fuel. Coincidentaly this always happens right after dj starts yelling about them doing too many laps without a fuel stop. Which is total B.S. considering they refuse tobuy light weight fuel bladders like every other team does which allow you an extra 3 gallons in same size shell.

Haha, nah, but its not hard for the WoO to rig the draw. Not sure if you are aware, but they dont just have 1 x 2,1 x 4,1 x 6 & 1 x 8 pills in the draw! They have 3 or more of each number at a time,so its not hard to leave a few of one or the other out so you draw a certain number. Trust me, That is fact. As for the draw in the WoO trailer to so call "save time". it happened quite a few times this year!

I'd guess the 11 contracted drivers probably get some benefit from officiating, but minor in nature. Who knows.

That doesn't mean he has to follow him for another 3/4's of a lap after the green flag.
