Well for Thursday there is lots of things you can do. #1 I dont know if you have ever taken Bill Smiths museum tour at Speedway Motors in Lincoln but it is a MUST do, heck I could spend at least 3-4 hours there. #2 I dont know if you have ever done it but Omahas Henry Doorly Zoo is the second best zoo in the nation behind San Diegos Zoo. Depending on your food likes all of us in Omah/Lincoln could probably overwhelm you with eatery ideas.

Thanks. I think Bill Smith's it is. I have been to the zoo a few times and also across the highway are some great gardens, not mentioning the Golden Horseshoe casino down the road! I think I will hit that air museum on the way to Lincoln from Omaha also.
My wife told me if I went to one more Sprint Car race
she would leave me.................I'm sure gonna miss
that ol' gal.

SAC air Museum is 10 mins east of track on I80 at Mahoney exit. Impressive stuff there even if you dont seek out that kind of thing. Closest thing to a gear head museum your gunna find. Here is a link to it.

Right across the exit 420 the track is on is that WWII museum. Right behind the Speedy Mart by the tornado gutted hotel. Private ran deal, super low budget. I have drove by it every day for 9 years going to work, never see more than 1 car there ever. I think the guy running it never got over the war. In any case if you were a true war buff I bet you could find a reason to be glad you swung by. I was in the UK 15-18 years ago. There were weekend flea markets of just WWII memrobilia. There were some serious dudes still acting like that war had ended just 6 weeks earlier.

If your planning on going to the Saturday night show, Nebraska has a night game in Lincoln and I-80 is very heavy traffic between Lincoln and Omaha. I think the game starts at 6:30 so there`s your heads up!!!

Though the same nights they start at 4 Friday and Saturday earlier likely. It is a big block party. Polka band, tough guys in shorts getting chest to chest, etc. It is like going back 200 years partying. Or, head down there after races too. They server boots of beer just like on Beerfest. It is the biggest weekend of year for a very popular Omaha German bar.

Have not been down to Eagle or I-80 for several years but what will always live in my mind is walking into the track, the entrance at turn one, leaning against the fence and watching sprint cars flying into the first corner and around 2. I can picture it vividly in my mind, man you are almost riding along in the car with the driver. Must be only 75 feet from the cars. Then the security comes along and clears everyone away, which I understand.

Yes they are. Three nights of sprint car racing in four days and the tracks are 15 minutes apart. Heaven for those of us living in eastern Nebraska and western Iowa.

Don't forget us Northwest Missourians! I think I'm going to go to at least one of the nights (if not both) from Maryville, Missouri.

You won`t be dissapointed. No other area sprint car racing that weekend. We are expecting another steller field.

I found out the SAC air museum is adding a B-29 bomber that Saturday. May be a bit of a bonus day to anyone going that day.
